That’s awesome. Not only am I determined to lose the weight for my own goals, but now as a ‘homecoming surprise’ for my husband.
The strange thing is, it hasn’t ‘set in’ yet that he’s leaving. It’s like I don’t believe it or something lol. I’ve gone through lengthy underways before, so maybe in the back of my mind I think it’s just going to be…[Read more] -

Basically I have not used the snickers for my meals. I only use it to know the correct bite size. I normally have a problem with gas and so before I would eat every 4 hours to combat this. I cannot do so now due to the diet and so I drink tea when needs be.My meals for the diet consist of protein, veggies, carbs;only 5 bites
. I am…[Read more] -

Yes, popcorn is mostly air, so 3 kernals might be less than 1 bite. BUT, again, it is OK to eat less than 5 bites for a meal, just never more than 5 bites for a meal. So give a few popcorn kernals a try.

You can try fiber (Metamucil, Fibercon, etc) or simethicone (Gas-X, etc). Be aware, though, that the gas may be coming from the chocolate in Snickers if you are displaying early symptoms of lactose intolerance. You might want to try a lactose tolerance test: Eat cheese, chocolate, dairy, etc for 1 week (but only 5 bites : )), then 1 week of a…[Read more]

I don’t know about anyone else, but I would never trade five bites of real food for popcorn. It is mostly air. You would be starving before you got out of the movies. I think I have done reallywell but one thing I would change would be…. eat 5 bites of real food, a mixture of meat, bread, veggies – not just 5 bites of a taco, which I love…[Read more]

Hi Dr Lewis
As stated in my post newbie, I am having problems with gas due to my lack of eating at regular intervals 3-4 hrs. I drink tea to combat this. Do you have any suggestions????? -

The results are great. I haven’t compiled the exact data, but people do phenomenally well keeping the weight off. People who want to lose the weight and put themselves through the FBD have no problem keeping it off–after all, you are not changing what you eat, you just get to eat more of it! All I can say is this: let’s talk about this more…[Read more]

Hi everyone
For me its different in regards to the times I eat. I am normally up at 4.00am while everyone is sleeping…also I am a high school teacher and my lunch and break is constant. Therefore I after awaking at 4 in the morning its difficult to wait until 1:30 to eat lunch. I drink tea around 5 and I eat at 10: when I am on break. During…[Read more] -

hi shannon
Yes I eat at set times….however this is a problem I have had for a long time. If I skep meals or don’t eat at regular intervals I have gas pains to the point where it really hurts. I have been fortunate so far in that I drink tea at regular intervals, thus I have something hot in my stomach. -

I see–I’ve so far yet to feel the weak hungry so I suppose only time will tell. Yeah I’ve been keeping my meal times regular as well and find that’s very helpful.

One of the things I’ve done is to eat at the same time(s) everyday. I wake up in the morning, have my coffee, and wait til noon. Then I’ll eat my lunch (2 fun size Snickers). The next time I’ll eat is at 5pm. I noticed that around 11:30-ish and 4:30-ish I start getting hungry, so I do something else to take my mind off of it until it’s time to…[Read more]

Hi Renewal, that’s exciting you’ve been on it for 2 weeks, do you have the book? If not, I definitely recommend it.
About the gas, I’m curious are you eating a set times or is it kinda random? I eat my meals at 1:30 and 6:30 and haven’t had a problem. It may just take your body some time to get used to a new system before all the excess pressure…[Read more]

Yeah, see, I’m the opposite. When I’m happy, I tend to overeat
because it’s "celebration time". When things aren’t going so great (coughdeploymentcough), I don’t get hungry at all. The last time my husband left for deployment, he came home to tell me we had 3wks to prepare for a 6mo deployment (it was only him being sent). I didn’t eat for 2wks…[Read more] -

Wow. I had NO idea the body did all that during that TOM!! For me, it’s really hard though, because not only do I get VERY cranky (my husband and I once had a 2hr. argument over tea. He came home the next day and opened the door an inch, inserted a candy bar, THEN came in the house feeling ‘safe’), I go through hell. I actually developed an…[Read more]
