  • Hi Alaska Gal!

Yes, a teaspoon (5 ml) is what I’ve found works the best for my bite size. It’s small enough that it doesn’t spark hunger, and at the same time, the taste of the food is there all the same. For snickers, the 50 gram bar here equals 40 ml. In my last sprint to my goal I had 1/4 of a bar per meal. That was 2 bites, meaning 2…[Read more]

  • My pleasure, Allison!

Today my weight was the same as yesterday: 50.2 kg / 110.7 lbs / 16.8 bmi.

I feel more in control now of the bites and weight equation. If I gain more weight than I’d like, I can reduce my number of bites. If I lose more weight than I’d like, I can add more bites to my meals. I have snickers to use if I need to quickly slim…[Read more]

  • Hi Alaska Gal!

If you want to, you can get to the finish line quickly, using a bite or two of snickers per meal – that’s how I got to the finish line quickly. That’s if you want to sprint!

  • Thank you Allison! And thank you Dr. Lewis and Alska Gal for the shout-out in the video chat!

Somehow, with all of my mishaps along the way, I’m here now maintaining. It must be the one foot in front of the other, and coming back to the five bites again and again. And a snickers is a powerful slimming tool.

Actually, my weight is still going…[Read more]

  • Great job Allison!

  • Hi Adenike!

You are finding out what works for you and what doesn’t. That’s good!

In social situations, you can ask for a box and take the rest of the food home, to the delight of other people.

If you take smaller bites, you will be most likely feel smaller hunger.

Eating more stimulates hunger more, in my experience.

One foot in front of the…[Read more]

  • Hi there everyone!

For my second meal I had an encore of my first, this time with a dollop of red relish instead of ketchup.

    I appreciated the meal!

All the best until next time.

  • Hi everyone!

Day 4 of maintenance, and my weight has dropped again, so I’m affording myself 6 bites per meal today.

I’m wondering if I should also add in a third meal? What do you think Dr. Lewis?

My weight was 50.6 kg / 111.6 lbs / 16.9 bmi this morning.

I’m feeling good and strong! I took a walk to the store and bought more food. My ease…[Read more]

  • How is it going JulieNom?

  • Eating out is wonderful! I also like take-away. It’s feels good to have someone else prepare food for me for a change. And I like watching Food Wishes with Chef John on youtube. He’s great!

How interesting that your doctor didn’t understand about cruise and eating less, and seemed afraid for his health just from talking to you. It’s not for…[Read more]

  • ps. I looked up the barefoot contessa – I’ll have a watch!

  • Hi JulieNom!

A cruise sounds lovely! It would be an excercise in portion control to attend a cruise buffet.

I’m looking forward to seeing where this journey will take me, food and other things. I’m interested again now in going shopping for a particular sausage tomorrow. I’ll do it if I still want to tomorrow. I can have the sausage.

  • Hi there everyone!

For my second meal I had a similar menu to my first meal, with additional bea sauce for the three rice dishes, additional pickles with the surf & turf, and a dollop of ketchup with the salmon sandwich. It was good!

I’m cooking a small pot of carrot and beetroot stew, and I allowed myself to taste test it while adding chili…[Read more]

  • Hello again everyone!

On a psychological note: my intensive food hoarding seems to be a thing of the past. As I got nearer to my goal weight I was buying a lot of food and take-aways. It was quite a hectic experience. Yesterday evening I also bought take-away. I’m noticing a shift today. Yesterday I planned to go and buy food. Today, the thought…[Read more]

  • Hi everyone!

    Today is maintenance day 3.

My weight has dropped again this morning: 51.2 kg / 112.9 lbs / 17.1 bmi

This means that I’m having 5 bites for my two meals today.

This is what I had for my first meal:

1 teaspoon of ground beef in vine leaf wrap
    1 teaspoon of spinach rice
    1 teaspoon of eggplant rice
1 teaspoon of surf and turf…[Read more]

  • Hi JulieNom!

I like the sound of the mini burgers for glp-1 restaurant goers. It’s most likely a matter of time before that will be mainstream.

Yay for making each bite as satisfying and interesting as possible! I have splurged on sauces and dips and such things. My fridge looks like I’m about to host for five! I’m not.

The herbamare has a sort…[Read more]

  • Hi everyone!

It’s funny: before my second meal I weighed in at 52.1 kg / 114.9 lbs.

I had my four bites and then weighed in again ten minutes later at 52.0 kg / 114.6 lbs.

    My bites were:

1 teaspoon of salmon sandwich with sweet chili sauce

1 teaspoon of shrimp sandwich with sweet chili sauce

1 teaspoon of calzone with bea sauce

    1 teaspoon…[Read more]

  • Hi everyone!

My weight was indeed down this morning. Thanks to this, I had four bites for my first meal, which is one bite more than yesterday. After my meal I weighed myself again, and my weight had dropped a little bit more.

My weight in the morning: 51.7 kg / 114 lbs / 17.3 bmi

my weight after my first meal: 51.6 kg / 113.8 lbs / 17.2…[Read more]

  • That’s one step closer JulieNom! You’ll get there! Snickers to the resque!

It’s good to know what you prefer and what you’d rather avoid for your bites.

  • Thank you JulieNom!

This morning I did cook something: lamb and veggie casserole. I cut about two tablespoons of small pieces from a slize of pre-marianted lamb meat that I bought yesterday, and fried it in the airfryer. I also airfried about a tablespoon of veggie casserole. When they were done, I combined them and called it lamb in veggie…[Read more]
