  • Hi Rae,

Congratulations! From your previous posts, I know you were getting frustrated as you were not losing any more weight.

Was it just the splenda you cut out, or were there any other changes that got your weight loss going again?

    Thanks

  • Hey all!

Thanks for writing Dr. Lewis! I have a feeling this journal will be a good idea too. I’ve tried to do online journals before but it was always on my own website and not an open forum so I always stopped after a while (because I was getting no feedback). I know what you mean about external temptations. Realistically this diet is easy to…[Read more]

  • Hi Kizzykay –

I think this journal idea is a great idea. I think it is a super way for you to stay focused on your goal. If you do as you plan, and only eat one of those Snickers in a day, you will, invariably, drop about 60 pounds in 1 month. The reality is, though, that very few people could stick to such a regimen. It is not difficult to…[Read more]

  • Hi Violette ~ Thanks so much for that extra boost & encouragement too. You are so lucky that you get to meet with the Dr. in person. That will give you the extra support you need to also reach your ‘dream’ weight. I know it may seem like the road is long, but you will see that finish line in no time ~ then like the Dr. says you can race the rest…[Read more]

  • Hi Everyone – I just started the program about a week and a half ago and have gotten through those first challenging days. I am so fortunate that I live near Burbank and am able to see Dr. Lewis in person. He is so enthusiastic and inspiring. I lost ten pounds the first week and I am over 50 and only about 5′ so this is amazing to me. After…[Read more]

I know we CAN all reach our goal weights together. Hang…[Read more]

  • Hi Chigirl,

Wow 32pounds in 6 weeks, that is inspirational! I am at work with a hangover, i took my cousin visiting from Perth, Australia out for a few drinks and one led to another. I was drinking vodka and diet coke, i was informed it has the least calories.

Only problem is the day after a night out i get the munchies, especially like today as…[Read more]

  • McButterpants –

Hi, and welcome to you in Norway!

I don’t mind the fact that you are eating a little more than 5 bites (maybe your ‘bites’ are smaller than most) as long as the bite count stays constant so that you are always putting the same volume of food into your stomach for a meal. This allows your hungerstat to rest so that you are not…[Read more]

  • Hi McButterPants ~ Greeting to you in Norway from The States! Good for you on taking the first step to a healthier you. Thanks for sharing your story, but you didn’t tell us your progress in those 3 weeks. Dr. Lewis always says that we can eat whatever we want as long as we stick to 5 small bites 2x a day. You can’t just count the calories in the…[Read more]

  • I don’t know, but doubt, that it will cause a long-term problem. But it will likely slow your progress (from the extra calories).

  • (just thought of this)– YES I realize I"m eating 2 snicker bars a day, and yes I realize that it’s been processed, but, I’m only eating them to lose this weight, get to my goal weight, then I’m going to start eating my normal food (low GI, organic, healthy, not-processed, etc.). Diabeties and heart disease runs in both sides of my family, and I…[Read more]

  • Well, when I made a few lifestyle changes, I decided to cut-out all processed foods, and stick to either raw or organic. I don’t care for food that’s high in sodium, preservatives, HFCS, hydrogenated oils, etc. I like food in it’s natural form
when I buy it– not in a box, bag or carton. I’d rather have some organic free-range chicken breast, with…[Read more]

  • K so I found the answer to my previous question here :)

So goals: cut splenda/artificial sweetener intake WAYYYY down!

    thanks for the answers gals!

  • Ok so question…is Splenda a problem?

Because I drink maybe 2-3 cups of coffee or tea with splenda in it…or sometimes i drink diet soda when I have a craving…would this cause a long term problem Dr. Lewis?

  • I agree with lbee217. Try having two of the snack sized snickers per DAY…also you could try spliting a tv dinner into 2 meals…half a tv dinner is 5 bites and that would only give you 300 cals for the DAY…just keep on trucking honey!

  • Hey guys!

Sorry it took so long to update…I still dont have the internet at my house :(…so anyways, I have been following the diet…well actually i messed up (sortof) for 3 days with my bites…I would say that because i noticed that even tho I was eating "so little" I was still hungry! And at that time I was just guessing my bites (I wasnt…[Read more]

  • I don’t think Diet Coke will affect your weight loss at all. In terms of bad chemicals–well, I guess only time will tell.

  • That’s why I find chewing gum helps me so so so much!!:)
