I am doing well! Back at it as of today. Sticking to bars and keeping it simply. I really need to set my hunger stat and then move on to regular food. Trying to focus on each day rather than jumping ahead!

Glad your back Rachel! This is definitely a journey and we all get off track sometimes. I understand the Whole Foods/vegan approach and how it is hard to believe in 5 bites at times. I know my family always tries to persuade me to just eat healthy and in moderation. Yet the weight never comes off! I hope you are doing well so far on your reset!

Confession time
– I have been struggling all these years with knowing how effective the 5bites strategy is, and what years of vegan (whole foods plant based) nutritional data was telling me. I think this struggle is what kept pulling me off 5 bite. My research kept telling me that I needed to just refine my diet to plant based food, and t…[Read more] -

Because fruits and veggies are PURE CARBON! You body breaks down all those chains of carbon (cellulose) in your stomach, the indifividual carbon atoms are absorbed into the body, and then they are reassembled as sugar! So, eating fruits and veggies is eating sugar. How much sugar? Well, that all depends on VOLUME. That’s why volume is key.…[Read more]

Yes! So much more to life than eating excess food. No need to eat more than 5 bites on a regular basis. What is hard for me is to understand why volume still matters when I am eating fruits and veggies only…but I am learning! I had the lesson of my life last month. Only fruits and veggies for 30 days, and I blew up 20lbs!

Food has very little VALUE. It tastes good and satisfies hunger, but has no LASTING value. When we go out and spend $25 to watch a movie, as least we leave with memories of the plot, scenes, and characters. When we we eat, it tastes great and it satisfies hunger, but then we are left with no memory of the food. In fact, the only thing we not…[Read more]

Right. But once you realize that this is your top priority, and that, without a doubt in your mind, you are going to do the plan perfectly, this enormous weight is instantly lifted off your shoulders. You instantly feel excited and giddy about the future. Because, from that point on, no one and nothing can stop you!

Starting this week fresh and with a commitment of bars for the next two weeks. I’ve been watching the 2015 videos with Michael and watching someone just crush this plan perfectly is very motivating. I’ve been reflecting on my true desire to actually lose the weight. Dr. Lewis mentions often that you have to truly want it more than anything. Thi…[Read more]

Congratulations that is amazing. Six pounds is incredible. Pick up a five pound of potatoes in a supermarket and that is heavy. Fabulous. Wishing you a fabulous strong weekend

GREAT JOB, Shelly! I so happy for you! Honestly, now that yesterday is behind you, and you thrilled that you didn’t finish anything? Given how good you feel now, wasn’t it worth it to not finish the food? And so will always be the case all the way down to the finish line. Great job!!! And have an incredible time on the beach!

drlewis replied to the topic 5 bites of humble pie in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 5 years, 6 months ago
Right. I’ve been doing this a long time, and there is a reason why I have people count bites and not weigh their food. Bites are better for a few reasons: first and foremost we are seeking to put a constant VOLUME of material into the stomach, regardless of what that amount weighs, to perfectly control hunger. Granted, a heavier 5 bites puts mo…[Read more]
