Alaska Gal that makes sense to me!
I’ve tossed out the bread that I had saved in the freezer. I wanted the space for other more beloved food items!
I had actually made up my mind not to buy more food until I’ve finished what I have, and then I saw a bunch of yummy French quiche pies when I was out and about, and I went ahead and bought more food…[Read more]

Interesting.
I find I Dont like to eat the same thing after 2 days so I freeze meals too or I just toss them. We save so much $ on this way of eating. How?
We eat so much less in all areas its just a fact. So that allows me to not feel guilty about tossing. I know what used to be 1 meal for me is now 2-3 days worth so if I made it last past 1…[Read more]

I like this JulieNom! It’s a new time for us.
A time of plenty, and of having a stash and not eating it all automatically.
Our stomachs and brains and other organs are thanking us!

I am thinking this way: thinking of having a little stash. This is a side benefit. I am not used to things lasting long. For example, yesterday I wanted potato chips. I got one of the small bags, and ate 2 or 3 as part of my 5 bite meals. It is nice that I still have the bag and the end is not in sight. Another example: on Saturday, my father will…[Read more]

Well done! Much more controlled, Dr A really likes us to have zero calories in our drinks & I do think that is a big factor in the scale moving lower. Try to do your next day with no calorie drinks & 5 bites you’ll then have did it perfectly!
Cheering you on!

Hi JulieNom!
I wonder if this could be a hoarding response to being on the diet, wanting to make sure that I have food. Somehow it soothes me to save the food for later. I appreciate the variety of food that I have available. I watched the survival series “Alone” a year ago and there was one participant who hoarded his food, he dried the meat…[Read more]

I love reading about the beautiful Italian 5 bite diet! There were some foods I had never heard of, and I had fun looking them up on Google. The Italian 5 bite meals sound amazing, and you are a real inspiration!

I did well so far today. Everything was on point, except I had Chai with sugar and milk in it for breakfast. I have to do better on the breakfast drink tomorrow.
I had another big 10 hour work day, but got through. Lunch 2 pm: 3 bites tuna sub, 2 bites salt and vinegar potato chips. Same for dinner 6:30 pm. Little sip of Coke to help my…[Read more]

I forgot to write: when I re-heat the food, it shrinks a little, which affords me to add a splash of sauce and still stay withing the 1 teaspoon volume.

How I save food for later:
When I buy take-away food, I bring it home, slice it and dice it, and chop it into small pieces that fit into a teaspoon measure. I freeze individual 1 teaspoon portions in ice cube trays, and when they’re frozen, I keep them in zip-lock bags in the freezer.
Now in the winter time, I can freeze food on the balcony, and…[Read more]

Thank you, Allison and Jane! You have such good tips and positivity. This diet seems to be a mind set. Today I did well. I woke up determined. I just had a latte, Snickers bar for lunch at 2:40, Snickers for dinner at 7. Nothing else. The only deviation was milk and syrup in my large coffee as I don’t like black. I had a long hard work day too,…[Read more]
