I was shocked yesterday while at my Doctor’s to find out that my blood pressure is in the prehypertension category! I’ve always been on the extremely low side, so to find that it jumped that far was pretty shocking. I also found out that I have pneumonia, but I haven’t let those things set me back – it just further verifies why I need to keep…[Read more]

Day 1 has been so easy. I own this.
I can feel my digestion getting better!Lunch: 1 soft-boiled egg with a small piece of breadstick with sunflower seeds and spirulina

Dinner: 2 small pieces barley bread with 2 pieces soft cheese

You don’t have to do bars if you don’t want to. Snickers get boring really soon. I find it easier with real food. You are better satisfied because you eat whatever you want. No cravings…
On the other hand, bars are a practical solution. You just open one and that’s it

My adherence to the five-bite protocol has been choppy, but in the first two weeks, I lost 5 pounds, and a total of 11 inches from “waist,” chest, arm, and mid-thigh. My trainer was surprised, as she states that inches are harder for most people to lose. Here’s to a loss of them for you, too!

5bitegirl and socal_sher . Thank you for sharing!!! 5bitegirl, it is especially encouraging tohear you had so much success when you ate real food. I was watching one of the archived chats with Dr. Lewis where he said it is important to learn to leave food behind, like socal mentioned, so if this means eating just 4 bites in order to ensure…[Read more]

Hi Socal_sher . thank you for responding and sharing your experience with the scale. I too dislike that little gadget. I will ask Dr. Lewis during the next call. Some people, not on this diet, but I have read lose water weight and it doesn’t reflect as much in their inches lost. It is encouraging to hear other peoples experiences on this diet…[Read more]

Weight gain and loss are complicated functions, and gains may have little to do with the amount of food one’s eaten. I feel my extra weight in my feet, and it’s hard to get up off the floor, or up from a very low beach chair. I’m so ready for change.

Gayle, that feeling of peace and ease you describe seems to be great. I have never experienced it, but I can assure you about the opposite: Being overweight makes you anxious, full of unexplained rage and makes every little task difficult, if not impossible. Makes you lazy and I HATE laziness

Brenda, I have a hate-hate relationship with the scale, as it cruelly withholds positive news about my sincere efforts. Working with a trainer these past couple of months, using body measurements and the scale, I’ve realized that I lose inches like a champ, but the pounds, as reported by the infernal scale, lag. I’ve never used measurements to…[Read more]

I agree with Chrissa, Brenda. I dislike bars, especially candy bars, but a stint eating them helps to “set the hungerstat,” and allows you to see just how little food you can eat and be comfortable. I’ve started and stopped five biting many times with regular food, as I tend to just keep eating. The bar gives you discrete beginning and end…[Read more]

When I’m in my lean maintenance zone, everything else seems to flow. Flow and ease are key to my balanced and peaceful life. This is so true, Gayle, and I’ve experienced that sense of peace. I, too, will be avoiding the scale, except for weekly peeks (maybe). I was down a few more inches this week, which is progress I can feel.…[Read more]

Thank you so much, Gayle, for your support!
Yesterday was much easier again. I have occasional hunger and fatigue, but, again, I’m just so amazed by how mild they are and how infrequently they hit.
This is a very busy week, but I am striving to stay focused. After all the craziness has passed, I will be thinner and stronger. I will not look…[Read more]
