Yes. If a bar is truly 8 bites for you, then I would allow you to eat 8 bites, and EXACTLY 8 bites, at every meal. But, a couple of things:
1. If your weight starts to stall, your bites are getting too big. And when you are eating more than 5 bites, the difference in volume become magnified.
2. Our objective is to taste the food and to fi…[Read more]

Oops. Stay strong. If the hunger becomes intense and drives you toward the kitchen, remind yourself how uncomfortable the pain of stomach cancer is. That should help to turn you around.

GREAT! Welcome! You WILL see the scale move down … a lot … without changing a thing that you eat. But you do have to eat just 5 bites of it. Your hunger will set quickly, and you’ll be on your way to exceptional living! I can’t wait!

I understand, but a big part of me wants to stress the point: NO EXCUSES. I know your issues seem to be really “important” and “life-altering,” but time will pass, and you will realize that food in no way altered the course or your issues. Find a way to deal with the issues without eating. Again, if you truly want to be thin, then make an un…[Read more]

Great, Brenda. Post here (your journal) daily. Stay focused. Let us know what your temptations are and how you are dealing with them. I will do everything I can to help you intervene and defeat those cravings. The key, of course, is setting your hugerstat, and bars are a great way to do that. So go for it! Don’t alter a thing, and your l…[Read more]

Right. And recognizing that between 1-4 is your trying time frame defines your objective and gives you a goal. You ARE going to be hungry during that window, but you are anticipating it, and you are going to attack it with water and distractions. All you have to do is stay strong and focused for those 3 hours, then you are off to the races!

Right you two. There is NOTHING like going into the holidays ALREADY SKINNY. Already at your magic number. There is nothing like it. It is such a huge weight off your shoulders. And all the food that you eat between now and then is meaningless–pointless. You will not remember it in a week, let alone a year from now. You might rememb…[Read more]

Welcome BJS! I sent you a message, and that will get us started. But like Laura wrote in a previous post, why not treat this diet as you would a prescription medication and follow it religiously. Then count down the 72 hours until your hungerstat resets. In fact, why not force yourself to have just a Snickers bar twice a day for a full wee…[Read more]

Welcome back, Laura! I LOVE your frame of mind. I LOVE that attitude. Treat the diet as life-or-death prescription, and count down the hours. Life that exact 5-bite lifestyle until you cross that amazing finish line. We are all here with you!

Right. Stay focused and get it done. Just do it. I say this over and over, but it’s SO MUCH easier in the long run to just do it and get it done. When you do cross the finish line, you will feel AMAZING!!!
