So happy to hear from you, Beth! Indeed, the Average adult gains 5 pounds through the Holiday season, then loses 2 of those 5 pounds over the next 9 months (for a net gain of 3 pounds per year). Firstly, how much weight have you gained? Secondly, whatever that amount is, you have the ability to lose ALL of it in a matter of days, not months. I…[Read more]

Fine. I’m good with that, but can you tell/feel if you are losing/gaining? How well are you adhering to a strict 8 bites? How big are your bites? What are you drinking?

Yes. I’m sorry. I will make it easier to cancel payments. I hope this program was of great benefit. Remember: you can 5-bite anywhere, anytime, with anyone. It’s all you. Good luck!

Fine. Then do bars. The key is to keep experimenting until you find a regimen of food that you can make work with the five bite diet. Maybe, when you finally do try again with eating “real food” you will try less interesting food at first, like boring fast food items. Then build from there. But good luck with 6 days of bars! Just imagi…[Read more]

OK. Good. Keep noting what those triggers to eat are.

Every reason you can think of to evict the fat is a wonderful reason, and I support that reason 100%.

Right. Don’t give yourself excuses to eat more than 5 bites! My recommendation: put the taekwondo on hold until after you’ve lost all of your weight. Good luck!

I agree. It sounds like you are in the groove. Enjoy your bites when you get them, and enjoy the ability to not eat–and not feel the need to eat–when it’s not mealtime.

You should honestly be able to lose 15 pounds.

It sounds like you are perfectly in the groove. Cement that groove: every perfect day gets easier than the previous one, and before long you are five-biting your meals without much thought. Keep up the great momentum!

Shelly–I know how you feel. I was in an accident years ago and even with crutches I struggled to get around. When the physical therapist had me walk, I dreaded it–not because of pain, but out of shear exhaustion. But I knew the only way to improve was to put in the hard work. You’ve just got to do it. It’ hard, but the future is brig…[Read more]

Hi Inhalekale! Welcome! Please fill out the weight tracker info–I’d love to learn more about you!
Yes–fat tends to increase our appetite. The less of it we have on the body, the less baseline appetite we have. I’ve experienced this myself (I still do), and almost all of my successful patients have said the same thing. (I would get s…[Read more]

Hi Laura!
This issues you’ve described are really common. The emotional tie to food is hard to break, but I think it is best broken when you replace the irritability and fatigue you feel with a better association: that of looking and feeling amazing. YES!–you ARE going to be tired and hungry and irritable–but that’s the price you have to p…[Read more]

Shelly, You will ultimately be your own motivator. You don’t need anyone else. Finding that motivation may take time, but one day you will wake up and say, “I’ve got it! THAT is why I need to lose weight and I will lose weight.” From then on out it’s just time and practicing the techniques we’ve discussed to help you adhere to the diet unt…[Read more]
