    Marina –

As I stated in my book, don’t obsess yourself with your day-to-day weight fluctuations. Some days you will lose very little, and other days weight will just peel off. Rather, I have people base the success on weekly averages. But it sounds like you are going to do extraordinarily well!!

YES! Don’t let your mother have a lap band,…[Read more]

    Marina – Welcome!

    Delighted to have you on-board.

Firstly, I would wait until you are finished losing the weight before you try on your dress–you will have a completely different body at 120 than you do at 175. So get excited about trying on the dresses–which means get excited about getting thin and getting there fast. We are all here to…[Read more]

    Hi Alki –

I don’t think the salt in the mini egg would have set you back.

I’d just stick with a small amount of food for each meal. If you periodically want to skip a meal, though, that would be fine (possibly even great!) And you are right–one bites tastes the same as a lot of bites, so stick with one.

Lastly, I’m not sure what ‘Why less…[Read more]

  • Hi Alki33 –

Sounds like you have the perfect frame of mind. Again, your objective is to get to the finish line quickly, predictably, and (of course) safely. This will do that for you. once there, you can figure how much you can ‘get away’ with. I leave that up to each individual person. You are doing great!

In terms of the salt, unless you…[Read more]

  • Or more. Remember, you COULD do another 20 pound week, but it means you have to be just as perfect in how you eat, and that kind of focus takes discipline. But, I know you could do it.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Yes. It should work. Maybe you just need to scroll to the bottom of the screen to see the chat buttons.

  • hi Barabara. Sorry about the problems. Yahoo is the search engine, but are you using Netscape or Explorer? I’ll try to work it out once I know.

Can you read the ‘chat recap’? I have the answer there–just go to chat and select ‘chat wrap’ (or something like that).

But no, you WILL NOT lose muscle or muscle mass on this diet. Do you have the…[Read more]

  • Great job, Alki!!

Just think–you are about 1/7 the way there! If you could keep that pace up, in 7 weeks you’d be done! Super. The reality is that your weight loss will start slowing a little, but you should still complete the project within 3 months. Great!!

  • drlewis replied to the topic snickers in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 18 years ago

    Hi Joyce-

Yep. You can eat 1 2.07oz Snickers Bar twice a day for a week, and provided that that is all you eat and you don’t drink any calories, you will lose 12-17 pounds per week. (At 350 you burn more calories than you would at 150, e.g.). So keep up the good work and keep us posted!!

  • ItsMyTime,

Don’t obsess with calories. Just let nature take it’s course. 5 bites and only 5 bites, and your future will be filled with endless opportunities!

    Al

  • Good work, Alki!

You can eat whatever you want, just keep it to 5 bites. I don’t like soup (or chowder–unless it’s real chunky), so have 1 bite of it and be done (5 bites of clam chowder taste no different than one bite). Remember, you are on a mission to get thin, so stay focused and JUST DO IT until you are skinny and spectacular. Then the…[Read more]

  • Hi Barbara –

    Welcome!
In terms of weight loss–you have plotted yourself out on an excellent curve. Just stay focused, eat 5 and only 5 bites (of whatever!) for each meal, and you will no longer be hungry by tomorrow. If you are, you are varying the amount that you eat: even a small difference in the stretch of your stomach from meal to meal…[Read more]

    Tginna and Jeffreys –

First of all–good working in starting well on the weight loss program. I’ve have seen this story so many times in my office–10-15 pounds the first week, then 5-8, then 2, etc. It’s not because your metabolism is changing (your hearts are still beating at the same as they did last week, you both are still breathing the…[Read more]

You are right–there are some foods that are worse than other foods, particularly those that are high in cholesterol. Some ‘bad’ foods might contain chemicals that may turn out to be carcinogenic in the future. But what i meant by good and bad is that a calorie is a calorie–and all foods have them.

    But yes–just keep plugging…[Read more]

Please update me at least once a week. I am really looking forward to your progress.

  • Your bowel movements should slow down to about once per week, if you are doing what I have suggested perfectly.

In terms of what you are eating, there is no such thing as ‘good carbs’ vs. ‘bad carbs’ vs. good foods, etc. It’s all just food. Don’t complicate things. Just follow the program more closely and let nature do the rest. It will.…[Read more]

I don’t know exactly why you lost so little weight. My guess is your bites were much bigger than you realized. But regardless, one way or another, you are taking in the calories. Your body, just living (breathing, pumping blood, etc) require about 1800 cal a day, and even if you eat 2 snickers bars in a day you are still 1300…[Read more]

Great work to this point. Yes you are going to think a lot about food, but if you look within yourself you shouldn’t be hungry at this point. So, when it comes time to eat, eat a bite of what you’ve been dreaming of.

As you continue to lose weight your body produces a chemical called aponectin–a hormone that further quells your…[Read more]
