  • Fine. You can try cutting the Snickers Bars in 1/2. But your body is constantly requiring huge supplies of sugar, so it has to get them from somewhere. If you are not putting sugar in your mouth, your body HAS to pull it from the fat. Just that simple, no other possibilities. And again–your body isn’t that special–you don’t have a ‘miracle’…[Read more]

Absolutely! That’s the whole point of keeping your bite count the same. You feel full when your hungerstat resets.

    Congratulations!

I don’t know. But, a big bite tastes the same as a small bite, so I would favor the smaller bite and get done sooner!

    Good luck,

  • Don’t worry about the fat content!! You can’t get enough fat out of five bites of lard to make a difference in your health! On the other hand, DO WORRY about the fat on your body. Trust me…you will lose your fat if you ONLY eat 2 Snickers Bars in a day!

My response: try it. If it works for you, continue. If it makes you hungrier, stop.

  • Klculmer –

If you haven’t settled your hungerstat and are always hungry, you are varying the amount you eat from meal to meal. Keep your meals to 2 only, eat them about the same time, and ALWAYS eat just 5 bites. Tough? Well, only in that it requires a lot of concentration, but after day 3 you should have no more hunger. Good luck!

It might be that your operating system is old and you need to update it on your home computer. But if you have to ‘stay late’ a little tonight to join in the chat, we would love having you!!

Be careful about this, though…I advise against ESTIMATING 5 bites, or you are bound to eat too much. Rather, relish in the pleasure of being able to stop (with will power alone) after your fifth (small) bite. Then life will be glorious.

    Rae –

In response to question #1, this diet does not make you want to binge. Just the opposite – this diet subdues your hunger so that you are less hungry. Whether or not you go on an ‘eating spree’ is entirely up to you–but your appetite won’t be the one egging you on.

In terms of your body going into starvation mode and then ‘storing fat’,…[Read more]

This is up to you all, but I’ll throw my 2 cents in: Monday. Most people have an easier time staying focused during the weekdays, but fall apart on the weekends. BUT, if you know that weigh in is on Monday (and since you won’t have time to ‘make up’ your indiscretions over the weekends) Monday seems like a great day. But again, it’s up to y’all.

    Barbara –

For people who tend to fall of the weight loss curve, they are simply taking in too many calories. Usually this happens by allowing your bite sizes to get too big–sometimes without even realizing it. So I suggest making it easy on yourself for 1 week: 1 Snickers bar for lunch, and 1 for dinner. No other food, and don’t drink your…[Read more]

EXTRAORDINARY! I think you’ve got it. When you know where you are going and you see the weight fly off your body, effortlessly, the program becomes FUN! Great! Keep up the good work!

You could, in theory, do 1 bite every hour for ten hours. But here is the problem. Your hungerstat will set to 1 bite worth, which is fine, but your body will want to eat every hour. This becomes a problem when you start to eat more than one bite (like for dinner) because now your stomach wants the 5 bite stretch, but also wants it every hour!…[Read more]

  • Fasting, literally, means no calories in. Even if you eat 1 bite of food you are no longer fasting. But we fast every time we go more than 6 hours without eating.

Skipping a meal if fine (just that much less calories) and safe (we can live months, safely, without food), but don’t make up for skipped meals by eating more for you next meal. This…[Read more]

  • Hi Marina –
It is for both reasons that I don’t like alcohol while you are on this diet: lots of calories and it stimulates you appetite. BUT, this thing call ‘life’ gets in the way. So, if you must, have a drink or two on the weekend. Just try to stick to the rest of the plan as perfectly as you can.
