Rae –
In response to question #1, this diet does not make you want to binge. Just the opposite – this diet subdues your hunger so that you are less hungry. Whether or not you go on an ‘eating spree’ is entirely up to you–but your appetite won’t be the one egging you on.
In terms of your body going into starvation mode and then ‘storing fat’,…[Read more]

This is up to you all, but I’ll throw my 2 cents in: Monday. Most people have an easier time staying focused during the weekdays, but fall apart on the weekends. BUT, if you know that weigh in is on Monday (and since you won’t have time to ‘make up’ your indiscretions over the weekends) Monday seems like a great day. But again, it’s up to y’all.

Barbara –
For people who tend to fall of the weight loss curve, they are simply taking in too many calories. Usually this happens by allowing your bite sizes to get too big–sometimes without even realizing it. So I suggest making it easy on yourself for 1 week: 1 Snickers bar for lunch, and 1 for dinner. No other food, and don’t drink your…[Read more]

Skipping meals does not alter your hungerstat, but increasing the size of a meal does. Altering your hungerstat can really make things difficult.Post edited by: DrLewis, at: 2008/03/14 03:53

I will add a graph that includes individual’s weight loss who want to share it with others. I am working on that with the designer of this web site. Thanks.

You could, in theory, do 1 bite every hour for ten hours. But here is the problem. Your hungerstat will set to 1 bite worth, which is fine, but your body will want to eat every hour. This becomes a problem when you start to eat more than one bite (like for dinner) because now your stomach wants the 5 bite stretch, but also wants it every hour!…[Read more]

Fasting, literally, means no calories in. Even if you eat 1 bite of food you are no longer fasting. But we fast every time we go more than 6 hours without eating.
Skipping a meal if fine (just that much less calories) and safe (we can live months, safely, without food), but don’t make up for skipped meals by eating more for you next meal. This…[Read more]

Hi Marina –
It is for both reasons that I don’t like alcohol while you are on this diet: lots of calories and it stimulates you appetite. BUT, this thing call ‘life’ gets in the way. So, if you must, have a drink or two on the weekend. Just try to stick to the rest of the plan as perfectly as you can.Al

As I stated in my book, don’t obsess yourself with your day-to-day weight fluctuations. Some days you will lose very little, and other days weight will just peel off. Rather, I have people base the success on weekly averages. But it sounds like you are going to do extraordinarily well!!

Marina – Welcome!
Delighted to have you on-board.
Firstly, I would wait until you are finished losing the weight before you try on your dress–you will have a completely different body at 120 than you do at 175. So get excited about trying on the dresses–which means get excited about getting thin and getting there fast. We are all here to…[Read more]

Hi Alki –
I don’t think the salt in the mini egg would have set you back.
I’d just stick with a small amount of food for each meal. If you periodically want to skip a meal, though, that would be fine (possibly even great!) And you are right–one bites tastes the same as a lot of bites, so stick with one.
Lastly, I’m not sure what ‘Why less…[Read more]

Hi Alki33 –
Sounds like you have the perfect frame of mind. Again, your objective is to get to the finish line quickly, predictably, and (of course) safely. This will do that for you. once there, you can figure how much you can ‘get away’ with. I leave that up to each individual person. You are doing great!
In terms of the salt, unless you…[Read more]

Or more. Remember, you COULD do another 20 pound week, but it means you have to be just as perfect in how you eat, and that kind of focus takes discipline. But, I know you could do it.
Keep up the good work!

hi Barabara. Sorry about the problems. Yahoo is the search engine, but are you using Netscape or Explorer? I’ll try to work it out once I know.
Can you read the ‘chat recap’? I have the answer there–just go to chat and select ‘chat wrap’ (or something like that).
But no, you WILL NOT lose muscle or muscle mass on this diet. Do you have the…[Read more]

Great job, Alki!!
Just think–you are about 1/7 the way there! If you could keep that pace up, in 7 weeks you’d be done! Super. The reality is that your weight loss will start slowing a little, but you should still complete the project within 3 months. Great!!

drlewis replied to the topic snickers in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 17 years, 10 months ago
Hi Joyce-
Yep. You can eat 1 2.07oz Snickers Bar twice a day for a week, and provided that that is all you eat and you don’t drink any calories, you will lose 12-17 pounds per week. (At 350 you burn more calories than you would at 150, e.g.). So keep up the good work and keep us posted!!
