Yep. It’s never the wrong time to start again. And every time you do eat a lot less (hopefully only 5 bites) it counts, and it means that your going to be just that much lighter than you would have been had you eaten more. Try and put as many successful meals back to back, and before long it will just become second nature to eat tiny meals.…[Read more]

Thanks for the great story. And thanks for the compliment at the end, though I’m sure other docs out there have thought about recommending a similar diet and just haven’t voiced it. But thanks.

Yes. I did it. I went from 190 to 137 in about 24 days. During this time my bite count was fairly consistent, but I never cheated. I would have 5 bites of something in the Doctor’s Lounge at the hospital for lunch, and then I usually stopped by In-N-Out (a burger joint in California) or an Italian Hole-In-The-Wall and had five bites for…[Read more]

Don’t get discouraged. There are times when we all eat more than we should. That is part of life. But just get started back on track as soon as you can. Your weight loss shouldn’t slow down, but obviously, now you also have to lose the extra amount you ate. But no big deal…just get excited about the finished result and savor…[Read more]

Right–you are predominantly losing fat, and you are plotting yourself out on a very good curve (pg 59). So just stay focused and your life will be glorious! Keep up the good work!

Excuse me, but you are wrong. Dr. Gerber and his group, published in the International Journal of Obesity, showed that the thinner someone is, for both men and women, down through a BMI of (actually 18), the longer and healthier they live. This study was a randomized, double-blinded study involving 100,000 people. It is the best study…[Read more]

Good so far…not great, but good. However, ‘protein’ bars will not speed up the process. Where ever did you hear such a thing? There is no science that demonstrates ingesting amino acids accelerates fat consumption. Amazing what you hear out there, though.

drlewis replied to the topic Question : Skin after weight loss. in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 17 years, 11 months ago
Shebih –
You have more than 100 pounds to lose, and at your height you are going to have left over skin. BUT, at 110, you will appear to have a lot less excess skin than at, say, 140. At 140 you will still have ‘clumps’ of fat in the skin folds which will make your skin look ‘saggy’. However, as you continue to use up all your fat, those folds…[Read more]

Exactly. As you progress along this diet, you will only develop hunger during those 2 time, and 5 bites will fill you up each time. Fantastic, isn’t it?

You will still have the same shape, but you will just be smaller. You will look fabulous. And above all, you will be truly healthy.

Remember: The FBD isn’t for life–it is just a tool to reach a health and a physique that nobody else can attain. That alone should be motivating. But once you are done, then you get to eat more!! (Granted, it will be less than the amount that you are currently eating, but it will feel like MORE than you are currently eating.)
So…[Read more]

Hi Kizzykay –
Sorry–I thought I answered this already (another post?). But anyway…You could loose the 100 pounds in under 3 months. Not bad when you consider how fantastic your life will be at 117 pounds. So just get there. BUT please, never eat more than 5 bites for a meal, and only 2 meals per day. This is really hard, but just stick to…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic want to loose faster in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 17 years, 12 months ago
Hi Everyone:
OK. If you want to lose your weight faster, you have to take in fewer calories, which means eating smaller bites. But try cutting a 2.07 oz Snickers Bar into 5 pieces sometime–those are still 5 pretty big bites. And if you have a ‘normal dinner’ (2 bites of salad, 1 of meat, 1 of bread, 1 of mashed potatoes), you will lose it…[Read more]

No. Drink as you will. Again, thin fluids do not keep the stomach stretched for long enough to reset your hungerstat, so drink away.
Good luck!

I’m happy to hear that you’ve lost 20 pounds in 4 weeks, which is good, but not perfect. But I am saddened by the $50 comment? This forum is an opportunity for everyone here to use each other (and me) to answer questions and find the motivation to achieve your individual goal. The $50 also keeps the ‘rif-raf’ off the site, so we all…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic New with ALOT of questions
in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 17 years, 12 months agoHowdy Kizzykay! Welcome!
Question 1 – you can function quite well on most anything…or even nothing, as your fat stores allow. I just personally like Snickers Bars, and they are about 5 bites, so I use them as an example. But any bar of the same size (about 2 oz) would give you a good mental picture of the ideal meal size.
Question 2 – No.…[Read more]

Hi 6read5! Welcome!
Admittedly, 5 is an arbitrary number, but it approximates (in a day time) what one would eat had they had a gastric bypass.
In regards to question #2 – have you read my book? The multivitamin takes care of all the minerals and vitamins that may be missing from the 5 bites.
3. Again – have you read my book? BMI holds for…[Read more]

Colon cleanses are useless, unless you plan on doing a photo shoot of your belly within a few hours of the cleanse. But the ‘poop’ will just build up again within 2 days and your back to where you started. In terms of ‘detoxifying’ yourself–doesn’t happen. All of the stuff in your colon remains ‘outside’ your body and you need not…[Read more]
