If she was just diagnosed with diabetes (and probably hasn’t been placed on diabetes meds yet), then by all means she should do this diet!! Diabetes never makes your blood sugar levels fall too low–the medication that you take for diabetes pushes the sugar too low. If she is on medication, I’d like to know what pills she is taking.

Firstly, good luck when you ‘officially start’ on Sunday. I can’t wait to hear your updates.
The thing about the hungerstat is this: once it is set, you may be hungry unless you put in that amount–BUT, putting in less (and maybe being a little hungry) won’t mess things up. In fact, you lose weight just that much more quickly. So, if a bigger…[Read more]

No, and in fact losing weight is the first and foremost treatment for PCOS. You will do great–just hang in there.

Just wait it out. Not much you can do. You can try drinking a little extra water, but in a few days the cramps will be gone.

Hi Shannon.
Welcome! Delighted to have you aboard!
A bite is a bite. Every time your fork raises to you mouth, it counts as a bite. Keep your bites small–a small bite tastes the same as a big bite. Get used to the small volume you are putting in you stomach, and before very long you will feel spectacular (and look it too!) I like the idea…[Read more]

Believe it or not, I only have a handful of people who have stuck to, and only to, Snickers for a week. All of them (from the best of my memory) lost 13-16 pounds that week. They were of different sexes, though if they weighed more they lost more. Remember: the more you weigh, the more energy your body requires to run, and the more calories…[Read more]

Hi. Nice to hear from you again.
Everything above sounds fine, except the part about 1 pound = 3500 calories. Those calculations are just not correct. I know this because I just had a near-500 pound man lose 28 pounds his first week on this diet. You are suggesting that his daily deficit was 14,000 Calories, and for someone who…[Read more]

Obviously we can’t make assumptions based on individual cases–that is why we perform large, ‘powered’, double-blinded, random controlled studies to eliminate ‘chance’ occurrences of the type you mentioned.
Such double-blinded, large, random controlled studies have shown that a BMI of 18.5, for both men and women, is healthier than any…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic Question regarding amount of meals in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 17 years, 9 months ago
Hi Adrienne. Welcome!
4 bites 3 times per day = 12 bites
5 bites 2 times per day = 10 bites, so,
I would rather that you ate 10 bites 2 times per day. I’ve been doing this for a while, and this seems to be the regimen that has worked for most people. Five bites gives you the ability to taste a full meal, which 4 bites might not afford you.…[Read more] -

I have suggestion. You don’t need to force yourself to poop. Just let nature take its course. Remember–you could go up to a couple of weeks without having a bowel movement. Great! It means you are being very strict and you will have an extraordinary result. Keep up the good work!
Now, if your stools become hard and uncomfortable, take a…[Read more]

Rae – You are doing great! Absolutely you can have 1/2 a Snicker’s Bar. You will finish the race just that much faster. And you are getting over the ‘hump’, so you will find that very little food is very satisfying. When you are thoroughly comfortable and such a small amount of food, start eating all kinds of foods–just keep the volume the…[Read more]

There are 2 issues here: 1) why only 2 pounds in 3 days. I can’t explain this, except to say you are getting the calories in somehow. Maybe (just until you are done with the program) go on a 3 bite/day routine. Once the weight is off you can then eat again. So just get the weight off. 2) Muscle Fatigue. I would advise you see…[Read more]

Firstly, welcome! Delighted to have you aboard!
The first week shows you the potential of the program if you are able to stay focused to that degree. It is amazing, though, how just a small increment in bite-size can significantly slow your weight loss rate. Even then, 27.5 pounds in 3 weeks is amazing (compared to any other diet…[Read more]

Good. Utilize the FBD to conquer your hunger and maintain satiety. Then go, go, go until you are spectacular. I am always here to help, but please keep us updated on your weight progress. The graphing feature should be available pretty soon.
