Barbara –
If you are only losing 3 pounds a week at 190 lbs, you are not eating they way I’ve asked. So do this: be perfect, no excuses. A Snickers Bar for lunch and a Snickers Bar (2.07 oz) for dinner. No exceptions. I’m not asking that you do this for the whole diet (of course that would be amazing), but I would like you to be perfect for…[Read more]

I’m going to second what Lattechic said.

Fair enough. But if you truly stick to 5 small bites 2/day, the weight (irrespective of who you are) will fly off your body. Before you know it you will be skinny, and you’ll wonder how you got there. I think it will help you along the way to stay focused on the finish line, and, after all, you ‘are not hungry’. So why eat and delay the journey?

Gomyers –
Adding amino acids to your diet will not give you increased energy. As long as your body has fat on it, that will be the preferred carbon source that your body uses. Excess amino acids that float around your blood stream may be broken down for gluconeogenesis (creating sugar out of them) and then used that way, but again your body is…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic Question for you Dr. Lewis! in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 17 years, 5 months ago
Chigirl – It sounds like you are very motivated and determined. That is an excellent first start. I don’t know why your weight is fluctuating from day to day, but your body can’t "hold onto" its weight for much longer, no matter how much your body want to "hold on". Your body is constantly striving to keep it’s weight constant (which will make…[Read more]

Great Renewal. Glad to hear that everything went well. I think it would be great if you added your weight loss data to the weight tracker and copied the code to you personal profile so we can all follow your progress.

Chigirl – simply stated, your bites are way to big. And whether your bites or big or small, it all tastes the same. So make them small and get the job done!

Welcome back, Andrea –
As the site grows there will be more and more of us to encourage you to sprint for the finish line–and fewer and fewer reasons to give up! : )
Remember: once you’ve had a bite of something, you’ve had it. No need to take another bite, unless you are still hungry. And if you bite count totals more than 5, you just need…[Read more]

I don’t know. I’ll have to talk to Chris about that. But: you’ll for sure be able to edit the data that is there, so after the forth week (and the data has been correctly entered), everything will be back on track.

Hello Chigirl! Welcome! Delighted to have you aboard!
I conduct the live chats usually once a week, but I’d be happy to schedule them more often if people want. I have found that when I usually do my chats, on Mondays, not many people show up, so for now I’m only holding it once a week. But let me know if there is a time that would be better…[Read more]

Hi Arleen. Welcome! Great to have you here!
I just want you to keep you bite count constant–the same number of bites, and (as close as possible) the same size bites. If a Snickers Bar, for you, is 6 bites, then forgo the last bite. OR, eat 6 bites for every meal (it will just take a little bit longer to get done). Of course, you could…[Read more]

in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 17 years, 5 months agoI’d probably call it 3 bites, but I don’t know. But please, DON’T ESTIMATE! Maybe a hard-boiled egg is 5 1/2 bites. I don’t know. But after you’ve raised the egg to you mouth for the 5th time, you are done. Of course, you could probably get the whole thing in in 1 bite, but what for? Don’t you want to finish this whole thing? And one small…[Read more]

If you were perfect, you could drop 40 pounds in 3 weeks. More realistically, I think we are looking at 4 weeks, if you stay determined. And if you think about it, 4 weeks of staying focused is such a small amount of time in your (now much longer) life, why not? I mean, we can all endure most anything for 21-28 days, right? Especially when you…[Read more]

Just simply click the ‘Weight Tracking’ button. It allows you to enter your own data. Then, copy the script from the field in weight tracking to your profile, and every time you update your data it will automatically update your profile on the forum. Give it a shot. If you have more problems, let me know.

No problem. I responded on the other thread (it was the first one I read. Oh, well.)
But welcome, and you are going to do great! Don’t forget to go to the weight tracking section and copy/paste that URL into your profile so I (we) can see you progress. Thanks.
