No. But it operates on a slightly different platform, so you much first logout, then log back in by clicking on the weight tracking button. Let me know if you still have problems.

Hi Corgi!
Even though the above question was addressed to Roy and not me, I’d like to respond.
First, when I did this (I lost 60 pounds in 30 days), I DID have headaches the first couple of days. But not after the third. The headaches stem mostly from lack of hydration (which I was previously getting the the extra food I was eating–‘dry’ food…[Read more]

Hello romanissma! Welcome back!
20 pounds in 1 1/2 months? Are you kidding me? You could do it, fairly easily, in 2 weeks. You just have to want the weight off badly enough that you are willing to ‘inconvenience’ your life for a couple of weeks to get there.
One of the biggest bits of advice that I can give you, other than to read and…[Read more]

Thank you Sonia for this post. Very well expressed. I think a lot of people who read this will agree with your insights into hunger, and this will further buttress their own experiences as well as give people the comfort to ‘jump back on board’ should they ever ‘fall off the wagon’ and eat too much.
I am looking forward to your 1-week weigh-in.…[Read more]

Great plan. If you went ‘hard-core’ the whole way, you could get to your goal in 1 month. Good luck!

Hi Stephanie! Welcome!
I am looking forward to working with you, and I think you’re going to do great! Exercise plays no significant roll in weight loss, so you need not worry about becoming frustrated with excessive strenous work that doesn’t make you thinner. In terms of the weight tracker, you can enter the correct data in 1 week.

Gatorade has a lot of calories, so I’m not a big fan of it. But do what you need to do. The 4-bite thing sounds good. But instead of trying to figure out what you can ‘get away with’, I would rather you ask yourself, "can I just eat 3 bites for this meal?" (To which I would respond, "Of Course"!)
Look, just get excited about feeling stuffed…[Read more]

Herniated disks are more common than we realized, and THE MAJORITY of the time they regress on their own. But, of course, you need to discuss this with your personal doctor.
OK. So what would I do? Definitely, not exercise. After all, we don’t lose any significant weight exercising. But I would have to get the extra weight off my…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic What did your "5 Bites" consist of today? in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 17 years, 2 months ago
Hi Renee –
Your story is a great one. Keep it going!
There are many reasons why you might be waking up in the middle of the night. 1) New-found energy (from the absence of the post-prandial somnolence that is so common for so many people), 2) excitement, 3) anxiety, 4) alcohol (if this is the reason, please keep it to an absolute minimum), and…[Read more]

Yes…you are very wrong about this. 5 bites of ANYTHING will fill you up. Again, your hungerstat is based on VOLUME (and hence the stretch of your stomach walls) and has nothing to do with WHAT you eat.

Hi Renee and All –
To answer Renee’s question, it is FINE if you eat fewer than 5 bites for a meal, just never, at any single time, stretch your stomach beyond 5 bites. The 3 bites for lunch and 5 for dinner will equate to faster weight loss and getting done with the whole program sooner. So go for it!

I would rather that you learn how to throw food away. There is nothing that will make you feel better than to just throw the food away. So I would rather just stop at bite #5. The Snickers Bars are used to help you reset your hungerstat without having to think at all, but after that I just want you to count to five. Then stop. And get busy…[Read more]

Be careful. 1/4 of a sandwich is an arbitrary amount–the volume eaten will change based on the size of the bread slices and on ‘the fixin’s’ in between. PLEASE, no ESTIMATING! I can’t emphasize this enough. OK, prepare 1/4 of a sandwich, but ONLY eat 5 bites of it, then throw the rest away. Good luck, everyone!!Post edited by: DrLewis, at:…[Read more]

Kizzykay –
Regarding the first question, if a person were 105 they would have a hard time losing 15 pounds a week, unless their five bites were very small. But the more you weigh the more calories your body consumes each day, and thus the typical person here can lose 15 pounds per week. Realistically, though, I would be happy if people lost 10…[Read more]
