Madeleine,
That’s it! There is no other ideal standard to measure the fat around the belly other than to pinch it! Realistically, I can pinch about 1/4 of and inch, and that’s perfect for me. I want EVERYONE under 1 inch, but some people feel more comfortable with a little more excess fat on their body that others. From a purely scientific…[Read more]

Shiela!
I SO LOVE to hear that determination and commitment. You KNOW this is the diet that will work for you–now we just need to find a way to keep you focused. But the biggest obstacle–getting your own mind in the game–you’ve already conquered. Great. Now just come here often and let me and everyone else here keep you focused all the way…[Read more]

Oh No! I’m afraid–but I don’t know how–that I may have been the culprit. I’m SO sorry, Robin, but after I responded to one of your posts in this thread last night everything turned grey. I have to think that somehow, someway I must have pushed the wrong button and deleted your posts. I’m so sorry!

drlewis replied to the topic Maintenance? in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 13 years, 10 months ago
Better yet, do it EVERY DAY of the week, set your hungerstat so that you don’t have to dread those “fasting days”, and just finish this extraordinary project. Why put yourself through torture like that?

Dunno. I would be very interested in hearing how they are doing too. But I imagine that those who TRULY want to lose weight have done/are doing fantastically well!

drlewis replied to the topic Is there such a thing as "too much" diet soda? in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 14 years, 8 months ago
Damage–no, not that we know of. But (and I say this often), there are probably a bunch more usable carbon atoms in “diet” or “0-calorie” drinks than are acknowledged. For this reason, you may find that drinking a lot of diet soda makes losing weight harder than drinking black coffee.

Fantastic, and welcome back! It would be an incredible birthday gift to you to finish the project this time. Imagine how incredible you would feel and BE! I may hardly ever need to see you!
(Not that I wouldn’t love to see you, but my goal is to help patients become so healthy that I don’t NEED to see them much.)Anyway, it sounds as if…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic Don't worry about a slow metabolism in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 15 years, 6 months ago
Perhaps … I don’t know of this study … but a slow metabolism is certainly a more efficient metabolism, and this would (in theory) help you to live longer. But certainly, any extra benefits from a slow metabolism out vastly outweighed by excess fat, so your first objective should be to get thin. Then, if you are at your ideal weight AND your…[Read more]

Thank you for this nice note, Janette. I am truly thrilled for you, and wish you the greatest of success in your career. I am also thrilled that you discovered the true power of this program: It lets you achieve your dream weight, your way, through doable means, and if you “accidentally” put on a few pounds over the Holidays, the 5BD gives you…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic Question for the Doc, Raw Foods? in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 15 years, 8 months ago
It shouldn’t matter. Cooked foods may actually have LESS carbon in it, if the boiled water leaks some carbon out of the food. And it’s all carbon in, carbon out. If you like the idea of eating raw foods as opposed to cooked foods, then fine. Eat raw foods. But don’t have more than five bites, total, for lunch and dinner. Good luck with…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic should I be worried? in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 15 years, 9 months ago
It is ENTIRELY a propaganda myth. Read my book again. Your metablism–the rate at which your major organs work–doesn’t change. And there is nothing you can do to alter it. So don’t worry about it. As long as you are breathing (and losing about 8/100ths of a gram with each breath) you are STEADILY losing weight. The same now as when you are…[Read more]
