YES, 5Bitegirl: the farther along this journey you go the easier and easier it gets to manage the hunger. Of course we all feel hungry from time to time–even me–but it’s so fleeting it’s no big deal. If you asked me the last time I truly felt “hungry” I couldn’t tell you. It just doesn’t make an impression on me because it is so short-lived.…[Read more]

I LOVE what you did at that restaurant! Didn’t NOT finishing those steak medallions taste better than finishing them? :cheer:

Yes, Socal. You CAN. In fact, you CAN push yourself harder than you think you can. Your body won’t fall apart–in fact, it will THRIVE. So although you will be hungry, push the envelope. Go without as much food as you can. Just a couple little tastes a day, and fall asleep with the grin of success on your face.

So, how do you feel now, 5Bite? Did you give in and have that extra bar, or where you able to stave off the cravings? Was it worth it?
In terms of the clothes in your closet … great! I’m delighted they now fit. But I want you to go through them fast so they no longer fit: I want them WAY too big! Then you get to go shopping. So focus hard…[Read more]

Congrats on committing to and finishing that race. BUT … just imagine how well you are going to do next year at the same event! It’s going to be incredible! But hurry up and lose all of you excess weight so you can start training on your new-and-improved body!

Smart, what do you do when you get hungry in between meals?

drlewis replied to the topic Smaro's daily log/progress in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 8 years, 8 months ago
Yep: Tomorrow–or TODAY!–is always a perfect day to start again. We are all ALWAYS starting and stopping this diet until we finally cross that finish line. But try not to let too much time lapse between weight-loss sprints.

NO!!! You’ve got all the energy you need–and more (too much) already stored on your body. YOU DON”T need to eat leading up to the race. NO, NO, NO!!!

But honestly, Smaro, aren’t you glad that you did? Wasn’t it a great experience?
Now I say, take it the next step. Can you switch to regular food and eat EXACTLY 5 bites of it for each meal–not an ort more? You should actually end up losing more weight in the same amount of time.

YES, Smaro! That’s it! The hunger is becoming mild and manageable! That’s it! You’ve got this! Now the question is: can you just hang on for the weeks required to reach your goal? ABSOLUTELY! It is SO WORTH IT! :woohoo:

Really solid, Crissa! You are WINNING this fight. Every day that you continue to say “NO!” to that extra bar, you not only get closer to the finish line, but you turn your hungerstat down. This is brilliant. Don’t let off the gas pedal! You’ve got this. Take it meal by meal, day by day, and before long you will be on high-speed cruise…[Read more]

Good work, Polly, on find a better sense of control. BUT, let me ask you: what were the 10 bites? Did you have 10 different flavors? Do you remember all the flavors even today? Could you have gotten by with just 1 ice of each item of food?

I so enjoy your journaling, Michelle. Thanks for sharing. I can’t imagine losing a brother at such a young age. I am so sorry. But all the more reason to focus on you and your health. You cannot, in my opinion, perfect it fast enough. And I agree with Neil–persistence wins this race. Keep finding a way!

And since I’m here: the food…[Read more]
