Ah … but this isn’t about what your mom thinks. This is about YOU and what really is. Science–nature–dictates that you are healthiest at 108. If your mom wants you to stop short of that, she wants you to live less long and with more morbidity.
SO, be strong. You are here for a reason. Innately you KNOW this is the right thing for…[Read more] -

Then do it, Shelly! Go for it! If you say you can do it, I believe you. Live up to that assertion. I’m here for you!

I like what you’ve written, Shelly. You are putting things in perspective. Indeed, it is hard to lose weight. But NOT losing weight is even harder–it tears your body apart. AND, in terms of hunger, the hunger is far more manageable then, say, breaking your leg from a slip and fall accident, that’s more likely to happen because of the extra…[Read more]

Shelly, I always want you to pursue whatever you think will work for you. If you join another group, like Weight Watchers or Overeaters Anonymous, though, I always recommend that you incorporate as much as you can from what you’ve learned here. Still, I fully supportive of you trying other avenues if the current one isn’t working for you. Of…[Read more]

I think you need to start doing something significantly for dinner. First, make the commitment that TONIGHT you are going to start this journey PERFECTLY, and you aren’t going to let up until you are done.
Then, have a cup of coffee before dinner (that’s different, right?) Even if the coffee makes it harder for you to sleep, oh well! It’s just…[Read more]

Correct: It is key for everyone to want to be skinny. And after all, why wouldn’t you want to be really skinny? You could not look better, feel better, or be healthier! So why not?

Ah, Letileti–you’re too kind. But I appreciate your kind words, and YES–being really thin does, in many ways, save your life!

Indeed! Hunger is just a sign that you are breaking down fat. And as hard as it might seem to endure that hunger, it is much harder on the bard–in the long run–to NOT lose the weight. So use whatever means necessary to avoid eating. Bring the hunger on! Challenge it to lead you astray. But don’t give in.

Fair enough. It extra caffeine worsens your anxiety, then slow it down a little. But coffee is a great thing, especially at higher doses (preventing cancer, etc.).

Indeed, but this time let’s finish the race. Go all the way. Life is SO much better when you do, and it is SO MUCH easier to maintain when you get all the excess off. Remember: fat promotes itself. The more fat on the body, the hungrier you are. But the less fat on the body, the less hungry you are. When you just aren’t hungry, weight loss…[Read more]
