Thanks Doc. I feel a bit woozy today. Kinda dizzy and headachy. Also moody. I’m sure it’s just the transition. I’m hoping these symptoms will subside soon. But I’m so jazzed about the great weight loss, I can put up with just about anything at this point.

The best gift you’ve given me is the gift of actually tasting and enjoying my food. I am more satisfied now than I was when I was scarfing fast food every day mindlessly.

Liz – You have hit the nail on the head! The less you eat, the better the food tastes, and the more VALUE you give to what you eat. Have fun with the program, lose ALL of your weight quickly, and spend the rest of your spectacular life helping other people achieve the same result!

Thanks for the wise words of experience. Day two went well: went out for dinner with the family, had my 5 bites and left the rest behind. Actually, my hubby ate most of my leftovers.
One of the silver linings to this program is that for the first time in a long time, I am actually savoring every bite-really tasting it. I decided that I…[Read more]

Klculmer –
I want to reiterate a very important point that you made. If you ‘fall of the wagon’, the second time you restart the program it is MUCH easier the 1st three days. And the 3rd time you lose focus and then restart it is even easier. So never become discouraged if you can’t stick to the diet the whole way through. After all, we a…[Read more]

Wonder of wonders, I dropped 6 pounds my very first day! Already I feel less inflammation. I felt so jazzed I even got in 3 miles on the treadmill.Post edited by: LizW, at: 2008/07/01 17:39

Thanks Kathy. Did you lose those 35 pounds in just 6 weeks? Great success! I had already made a deal with myself that my definition of ‘bite’ would be the size of the tip of my thumb, and no more. Here’s to mutual success!

The first 3 days are the worse but it can take a week to really notice you are not STARVING all the time. I lost 35 pounds about 6 weeks ago and then left the program for vacation and "felt like it". I’m back on and this is day 2. It is so much easier the second time around. My "experienced" advice is to eat eactly at the same times each day…[Read more]

Firstly, Liz, Welcome! It’s wonderful having you as part of the team!
The 3 days to reset your hugerstats holds for everyone–no matter how much you weigh. So just stay focused on how extraordinary you are going to look and feel as a thin person, and only eat five small bites for a meal. After the 3rd day you will not be hungry, and then it’s…[Read more]

Hello, Georgia:laugh:
Yes, I did many many days of just 2 2.07oz Snickers bars—there were some days that I ate a veggie burger with one piece of bread split into 2 as a "bun", also another substitute was a breaded soy chicken pattie with a slice of bread as the bun. I am a vegetarian, but I love the stuff that tastes like meat still! There…[Read more]

She has to be careful. Unlike someone who doesn’t take insulin, her body can’t necessarily break down more fat (to produce sugar) when it needs to–the insulin that she takes prevents her fat from breaking down. Thus she needs to have a quick sugar supply (orange juice, a candy bar) at the ready. But people who do not take hypoglycemics (like…[Read more]

So when her blood sugar is really low (and she usually has to eat sugar immediately and a lot of it), she gets shaky, cranky, and spacey—-is that something for her to expect with the 5BD? Thanks again for everything!!

Firstly, congrats on having learned the control to keep your weight perfect! Isn’t it an amazing feeling to have that control?
Secondly, Yes. Your friend can lose weight and it will be easier for her to maintain her glucose control. She will require less insulin per day, feel better, and live longer and healthier. HOWEVER, Type I diabetes (or…[Read more]
