I am sorry you are haveing such trouble Judi. You are right drinking and eating do not make anything go away. Just makes your trouble worse. I stopped drinking years ago, not for me. Now I have to stop it with food. It is the same thing. I always feel great when I have succeeded the next day and I feel terrible the next day when I have failed. We…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic Is there such a thing as "too much" diet soda? in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 15 years, 2 months ago
Damage–no, not that we know of. But (and I say this often), there are probably a bunch more usable carbon atoms in “diet” or “0-calorie” drinks than are acknowledged. For this reason, you may find that drinking a lot of diet soda makes losing weight harder than drinking black coffee.

If I don’t take steps right now to change,
when will I?Anthony Robbins is a world-renown motivational guru. His Personal Power series helped me a lot the last time I listened to it (any library should carry a copy of it, if you are interested). Hi kj,
I like the whole idea of “Doers and Watchers.”
That fits in so well with other “dichotomies” I’ve learned over the years (including the Doc’s two Types: “Want to Be Thin and Healthy? OR “Want to Lose Weight?”)
Years ago I learned of another way to describe the Two Types of people in our world and that would be…

sooo… I have been trying to make sure my bites were the right size, that tends to be a problem for me I think… so I’ve started counting swallows. If a “bite” takes me swallowing three times to get it down, it was probably too big. haha. Besides the obvious snickers sizing thing, (the 1/4 c. measurement is very helpful for soups or…[Read more]

Perhaps … I don’t know of this study … but a slow metabolism is certainly a more efficient metabolism, and this would (in theory) help you to live longer. But certainly, any extra benefits from a slow metabolism out vastly outweighed by excess fat, so your first objective should be to get thin. Then, if you are at your ideal weight AND your…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic Question for the Doc, Raw Foods? in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 16 years, 2 months ago
It shouldn’t matter. Cooked foods may actually have LESS carbon in it, if the boiled water leaks some carbon out of the food. And it’s all carbon in, carbon out. If you like the idea of eating raw foods as opposed to cooked foods, then fine. Eat raw foods. But don’t have more than five bites, total, for lunch and dinner. Good luck with…[Read more]
