Hi there,
Am new to this but love the feeling of control the 5 bite plan gives me. It’s brilliant. One question though. I can cope with the feelings/sensations of hunger but am struggling with low sugar levels. I am not diabetic and don’t normally have ‘hypos’ but for a couple of days now I can suddenly feel very shaky and hot and faint. Am I su…[Read more] -

Ultimately, whatever works! You can make small modifications to the diet to allay any disconcerting symptoms, but don’t veer too far off the path. We don’t want to struggle to get back on it!

Amen! This is my biggest conflict. The real me wants to be thin probably as much as I want a million dollars! I want to show up in the world as a thin person and also let thinness be my message to the world by example.
But for me, food is comfort. Food is habit. Food feels like survival. And above all, food can be so, so good. So at the end of…[Read more]

Indeed, Kmarie. The best anti-inflammatory you can take for your inflammatory diseases is: LOSE WEIGHT! It will ultimately be better than prednisone and all the immune-modifying medications you take. So, GO, GO, GO! Sprint for the finish line! Just get it done!!

My plan for this week is to do a bar for lunch and dinner M-F this week except Thursday dinner as I have an event to attend. I will stick with only 5 bites at the event.
Hoping to be down 8 lbs by Saturday morning.

Yeah I had the same idea but also figured it might be possible to avoid the side affects altogether by just doing 10 bite meals for a week and seeing if it gets any better. That way I can still keep the volume consistent instead of having one day of a bunch of eating.

Today I started work after holiday, and it makes doing 5 bites so much easier since I am busy and there is no food on offer other than the food I bring or my colleagues bring and we are not allowed to eat in the surgery only in the canteen.
Lunch was: 3 bites of chocolate my colleague offered me.
Dinner was: 3 bites of Reese’s peanut butter c…[Read more]

Very interesting observations, I used to doubt it when Dr Lewis say “once you are at your goal or close to goal food is not going to feel as appealing as it used to” , I never thought that would ever happen to me but I actually start believing it, It’s hard to explain but I actually miss that feeling or comfort food used to give me and maybe that…[Read more]

Great post Leona, you are so right I have had similar feelings but postponing weight loss will definitely not make us feel better on the contrary it will make us feel worse, so let’s keep fighting these excuses to eat more

I get that a lot, and I have all my life suffered with very low blod sugar, if you ride it out it will pass but at times it may get worse again mine gets affected by hormones, TOM, lack of sleep or to much exercise.

I do like this idea, and it has worked for many a patient of mine as well. So try it, Biene! Thanks Leona.

Great! And just so you all know, I just got back from Northern California; We went up there for the weekend to see the giant Redwoods. They were truly impressive–especially the felled trees. The trees were over 20 feet high in diameter! So sorry–I was out of touch for a couple of days.

drlewis replied to the topic Numbness and Tingling in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 8 years, 3 months ago
Again, I see the opposite all the time, Chloe. Numbness and tingling that go away with weight loss. I’m guessing your symptoms were symmetric and represent a systemic effect, like low blood sugar, especially since you felt better after eating more. This may happen from time to time, and you may eat more if you feel you need to. A…[Read more]

Right, Lynda. No alcohol or sugary coffee drinks, please. Wait until you are done. Then have at them. But for right now, discipline and perfection! OK?

Great. I’m glad those feelings resolved. I honestly don’t know why you felt them. I like your idea above rather than take a complete break for a few days. So I’d give your plan a try!

Day 15
Lunch: 3 bites of ravioli, 2 bites of cinnamon roll
I have suffered all day pretty terribly for some unknown reason. Persistent numbness and tingling throughout my body and major fatigue, unncoordinated motor patterns, dizziness. Orthostatic hypotension when standing up, and loss of vision a few times for a split second. I thought this…[Read more]
