Is it possible? I’m 5’6 and weigh 170lbs. I’m 53. My daughter is getting married May 19 and I will be seeing people I have not seen in many years. I used to weigh between 126-130 most of my adult life but over the last 4 years I’ve gained 40lbs. I am taking hormones for menopause.

Yes. It makes sense, but it’s not happening for me and there must be a reason why? I am breathing consistently all day. I don’t hold my breath in the morning between getting dressed and eating lunch. But, that’s when I gain weight.
Something is up and it’s not extra food. I have been perfect. And there is no carbon in water. So, could it be the 3…[Read more]

Cortisol may stimulate your appetite, but it certainly does not slow down your breathing. So no matter how much cortisol your body produces, it won’t affect your weight.
As far as fluid (water), what goes in DOES come out, or it would build up around your ankles (first). You would see it. Prednisone can cause fluid retention, but more im…[Read more]

Wow! First of all I want to thank you for your thoughtful response to these numbers.
I have no idea what to think about metabolism. I would assume it runs faster during the day then it does at night. Yes. I would also assume that my metabolism ran faster before menopause than now, after menopause or at least that’s what I’ve read. I would love…[Read more]

Hi Susan.
So here’s a quick summary of your body’s baseline metabolism and weight loss:
Wed, on 7 1/2 hours, you lost 1.5 oz (This had to be an error in your scale, as we shall see). Thursday night on 6 1/2 hours, you lost 6 oz. Friday night you lost another 6 oz after just 5 hours of sleep. Saturday night, after a full 8 hours of sleep, yo…[Read more]

I like that:):) What a difference it makes to have that kind of attitude! Not only in our lives personally but for those around us too. It’s a little contagious I think;) Nobody likes a grumbler or negative person cuz it just brings ya down and stresses you out. When I get that kind of attitude I like to start listing off all the things in my…[Read more]

Looking for the positive in everything is like a challenge, I play it like a game. When something crappy is happening I challenge myself to find the silver lining. I always do!
Although sometimes it takes longer than other times lol
