Also remember this, BK: No matter how amazing the food looks and smells before you, the same exact thing can be there in a month, 2 months, a year. Food isn’t going anywhere. It can wait! We think, “I NEED to try this, as this might be my only chance to have it.” But that’s never the case. You can ALWAYS find a way to have whatever again…[Read more]

Hi Jas! How are you doing?
Losing weight is tough. It is a complete change in thinking. There are SO MANY distractions and pressures that encourage you to eat. Following this diet is HARD … but so worth it. When you are done, life will be truly extraordinary!
When someone just gets started, though, it’s touch to change your years of buil…[Read more]

Definitely had some slip-ups, some intentional, some not so much. I think self-sabotage has reached its peak with me and it’s time to put an end to it. The only way to get started, is to actually start – and commit. There are a lot of pieces of my own advice that I need to take in, but most importantly is accepting that it’s a learning process and…[Read more]

Hello everyone. I have had to restart my membership and my weight journey. So it is day 1 for me today. Following strict plan as per Dr Lewis and reading the book daily. I had a very dear friend who was in hospice this last week and passed away. No excuse I know but just couldn’t cope with it
but here today and the only way ahead is full steam a…[Read more]

BK, I just read your post. This journey is perhaps long, it is certainly a challenge, but in the end You are meeting the challenge for your peace of mind and heart and for the health of your body. I know that when I did the 5 Bite Diet in 2006 I was a total couch potato. After I lost 100+ pounds I was then able to race up the tallest buildings in…[Read more]

Constant over eating and I’m back at square one again. I’ve been reading Susan’s old posts about her journey. I really need to focus on the reasons for getting this done. I keep making excuses to have extra bites and then I just eat more. I make zero commitment to myself and convince myself that tomorrow will be the day I stick with it. I think…[Read more]

Just before dinner I weighed myself. I was nervous, but I did it anyway and I was thrilled to see the scale read 199 Lbs!!! I haven’t been under 200 lbs for a very, very long time. I am very grateful to Dr. Lewis for the 5 Bite Diet and to all of you out there in the 5 Bite Community. I know that I wouldn’t have reached this incredible mil…[Read more] -

Incredible stories! I know myself that without the 5 Bite Diet in 2006-07 I would never have been able to run up the stairs in tall buildings like the Sears Tower in Chicago (103 floors, 2,109 steps) in 24 minutes, 11 seconds or have a 26.2 mile marathon PR of 4 hours, 11 minutes, 54 seconds. Now about 14 years later at age 68 I am back with the…[Read more]

I ate some “normal” food for dinner (5 Bites!) this evening and it seemed quite odd. Next week will be hard as I will be on a retreat with some of my students. However, I went to Walgreen’s this morning and purchased a week’s stash of Snicker Bars. I want to make sure that I am prepared if the meals in Healdsburg don’t meet my needs. Thankfully…[Read more]
