Well I definitely ate more than 5 bites and ended up not losing any weight. Very disappointed in my lack of self integrity. I’m going to stick to bars only for this first week rather than weighing food. Glad I have to be accountable on here!

Rejoice with me! After less than a week of recommitting to the 5 Bite Diet program I have already lost 4 pounds! This is, for me, excellent news and a great encouragement to stay with this program!

Be really careful of lattes/mochas. They are LOADED with carbon! Again, we can take in an enormous amount of dangerous and unaccountable carbon in liquid form. That is why I am so strict with liquids. But only with liquids!!

Still doing good. I did have way too much Diet Coke and a flavored latte yesterday but no extra bites so I’m okay with it. My weight stayed the same and I think the drinks are why. I have found that weighing out 2oz of food before I eat has really helped me not take extra bites. Goal next week is to actually throw food away and get use to it. :d…[Read more]

Right, because when you get back from your trip you won’t remember–EVER–that final bite. Ever! So make is simple: 5 bites, or one bite of everything, whichever is greater (I’ll give you a little leeway on vacation).

I LOVE your attitude. I have a sense that you are going to do really well this weekend. It’s going to be hard to be perfect your first weekend, but on the other hand, it’s kind of exciting, right? It’s exciting to anticipate the temptations that you know are coming your way and to prepare for them so that you don’t give in. It’s really exc…[Read more]

I am on day three today and feeling good. I have been eating a healthy flatbread and pre -weigh 2oz for my total bites. Trying to make sure to set my hungerstat. I am liking this better than bars for now. Woke up and was 171 so I’m down 3lbs. Just have to stay super super focused this weekend as that is usually when I slip up with extra bites.

Have a wonderful time, Shelly! You will. But remember the last time you went there: as good as the food was, are you still tasting it? Do you even remember all the things that you ate from your last trip? Of course not. Nor will you remember the food weeks to months after returning to the states. SO, taste (literally, 1 bite!) everyt…[Read more]

Dr Lewis, I really appreciate any advice you give me! Thank you so much.
I hate taking medications but I know and you know I cannot do this without help.
I took their 1/2 tablet of phentermine tablet this morning. I’m not feeling any side effects yet. 2 hours later. And I’m not hungry.
This morning, I ate 1 bite of bar so I could ta…[Read more]

Brilliant, Shelly, BUT … might I recommend adding Lexapro to your regimen (5 or 10 mg) and take a FULL phentermine tab. This regimen is really good for controlling your hunger but reducing the increased anxiety that can come from Phentermine. I think it would work very well for you.

My dr gave me Phentermine 37.5 mg.
I will take 1/2 tablet every morning to avoid more anxiety I hope it will get me to the point where I can do 5 bites easily And then stay that way -

Dr Lewis.
I think I will ask for help with this by taking a med that supresses my appetite Are there meds like this that won’t mess with my anxiety or depression?

Sean — Of course!! You can eat Snickers until you cross the finish line, and doing so would be one of the healthiest/safest things you could do for your body (knowing that other foods put more carbon back into your body, delay losing weight, and that the longer fat sits on your body the more unhealthy it is.) What you eat or don’t eat isn’t w…[Read more]
