I would love to hear some numbers in your first month with the 5 bite. It looks like it’s possible to lose 15 in the 1st week for most, but I’m wondering how substantially it will slow after the first week. I realize everyone is different, but it would be really encouraging to hear that someone out there has lost 45-50 pounds in a month against…[Read more]

I am also starting with bars tomorrow, 6-4-2021. It is way easier than counting 5 bites.
It is cereal bars for me, snickers is very overwhelming after a day or two.
When i want something savory, it will be a standard breadstick and a serving of french cheese. I counted this to be 5-6 bites.
You have done this before and there is no reason why…[Read more]

Yes, Rachel, this is often happening to me and i am trying to see the bright side of not having a scale.
Right now i will try to focus on the positive side of no scale.
I will master 10 bites a day.
Dr Lewis, for a woman my age, height and health status, what is a realistic goal eating 10 bites a day?
Can i lose 100 pounds in 13 weeks?

I like that, Smaro. You are doing the best with what you have under the current circumstances. When we eat, our objective is to taste the food that’s sitting on the plate in 5 perfect bites and then to throw everything away. I KNOW the food is good and you want more, but within just 5 minutes of throwing the excess food away you will feel fa…[Read more]

Listening to an audio book right now called “Never Binge Again” and in one of the chapters it relates our food plan to a marriage. You need to “marry” your food plan and be 100% committed, 100% of the time. You wouldn’t allow yourself (hopefully) to cheat on your spouse/partner, right? Would you marry someone who said they could be committed to…[Read more]

Sometimes I feel like my scale gives me permission to “cheat”. Like when I mess up, and the scale still shows a loss, my mind goes into that mode of “oh, that extra bite didn’t matter so much after all”. Maybe your scale being out of commission will allow you to be more perfectly on plan!

Last few days have been difficult.
I missed my weigh-in last Thursday because i simply don”t know how much i have lost. My scale died and all the shops are closed due to pandemic lackdown. I changed the batteries one day before the weigh-in hoping it will come back to life but thats not it.
Its funny that i have this scale since 2008 and it…[Read more]

Rachel, You can make that happen. Easily. But you’ve just gotta do it. Honestly, if it means enough to you, why NOT eat just a bar twice a day until you get to your goal? Why not? After all, will you remember any of the other food that you eat along the way? I doubt it! And again, as I always say, you can eat whatever once you are thin. …[Read more]

It has been an up and down sort of week. Tired, irritable, and family drama around my vaccine. I haven’t strayed far, but I haven’t been perfectly on plan either. I am expecting a rather small loss again this week.
So I set myself up with some extra tools for success yesterday, and I also started throwing food out from my refrigerator and pa…[Read more]

Sure. Of course. The key is to eat something of the same size and volume until your hungerstat is set precisely to that amount, then you are free to eat anything you want as long as it, too, is that exact same amount (5 bites worth of food).

I know I can! Can I eat a different type of bar that is the same size in ounces? I don’t like sweets, especially snickers. Perhaps a protein or granola bar?

Hi Angela!
You can absolutely lose an intense amount of weight if you put all of your efforts into following the diet. If you are that serious about achieving a state of health and fitness utopia (and everyone should be!), you are definitely in the right place. You’ve had success with this diet before, but now let’s push it to the extreme. …[Read more]

This is the heaviest I’ve ever been. I’ve struggled my entire adult life with weight. My mother and sister are morbidly obese, as are several other family members including my poor nieces. I’m very active and know how to eat right, but I’m incredibly impatient. I just want to lose weight and maintain it. I have done this diet once before several…[Read more]

That’s huge. A really good day can start a momentum shift that will ultimately take you across the finish line. Now that you’ve got one perfect day under your belt, and knowing that the second day should be even easier, make it happen. From now on, and until you are skinny, stop eating after 5 bites. You won’t remember the 6th bite tom…[Read more]

Yesterday was my 2nd vaccination. It went pretty well. I was feeling irritable and tired by the end of the day, and chose to not eat dinner. Today I woke up feeling better, and just finished my first bar for lunch. I feel like making it through yesterday was a turning point for me, and I am excited for a better week than last week.
Let’…[Read more] -

Well, that time of month came for me yesterday…thinking that was causing the intensity level of my cravings. Had two not-so-great days in a row. Improper planning on my part…had I known it was coming up, I may have waited to start 5 bites next week.
I am still here though, and back on track today. I will not give up!
