DAY 8………….1 WEEK BAR CHALLENGE COMPLETED

    208.2 lbs

TOTAL LOSS: 6.6 lbs (3 kilos)

I am very happy I did this. I didn’t think that I would ever be able to pull through such a challenge. Now I know what I am capable of.
I expected greater loss, maybe twice as much, but I am not disappointed B)

    Great job, Neil!!

I agree that it’s so helpful to have something that signals the official end of a meal. Picture-taking is brilliant for that!

It’s also important to settle into a routine that feels sustainable when you’re first tackling habit-change. It sounds like you’ve found one that’s perfect for you. And you’re losing weight!!! :cheer:

  • An entire week of perfection is HUGE!! I hope you feel great about your accomplishment and even more confident in your ability to go all the way with this!

I’m so excited for you!! :cheer:

  • Right, Michelle. The best thing we can do to prevent chronic, debilitating diseases later life is to lose weight. So keep losing away! You are doing great!
    Al

  • I second that: Nice work, 5BiteGirl! :cheer:

  • But honestly, Smaro, aren’t you glad that you did? Wasn’t it a great experience?

Now I say, take it the next step. Can you switch to regular food and eat EXACTLY 5 bites of it for each meal–not an ort more? You should actually end up losing more weight in the same amount of time.

0,8 lbs down since yesterday. (5 lbs in 6 days total)

Today is my last day of the bar week. I cannot believe I completed a bar challenge!!!

  • Yes Polly! You will be back as soon as you flip that switch!! You got this!! You have more successful days than not.

  • Wow! 5BiteGirl, you have done so brilliantly! That’s such motivation, thank you for your posts, I read them, but may not comment as I have fallen off and need to get back on, they are inspiring.

I know my emotional issues are stopping me, I need to deal with them better and with this, I know I can!

Well done on your 10lbs and inspiration. What…[Read more]

  • Thank you, Smaro. I’m pretty excited about it!!

Although I’ve used the 5BD successfully in the past (but not all the way to goal), I’ve also had many, many times (more than I can count!) of trying to start it and never making it past the first week. :( Very discouraging. It made me think this diet was too hard for me and led me back to trying…[Read more]

Sometimes we will never know what triggers us! Sooo…acknowledge your feelings, allow them and do the diet anyway. I used to get caught up in feeding the emotions and it always made things worse. It’s so much more effective when we can detach from food and deal with our emotions separately.

Easier said than done?? I know. BUT it can be done and…[Read more]

  • BANG BANG BANG!! Let’s know it out of the park SMARO (5 Bite Girl) and all those friends with us.

Put in the time, follow the diet and the results will follow. Today is just another Tuesday. Unremarkable, no weddings, special occasions to celebrate. Let’s just do 5 Bite and make it another day closer to SKINNY! One day closer to OPTIMAL HEALTH!…[Read more]

  • Fantastic results!!

I think a 3-4 pound average is MORE than double any weight loss program out there. AND — the hunger goes away. You will be at your goal in no time at this pace.

Don’t let anything (situation) or anyone stand in the way of your goal!!

You’ve been at this before so you know that it is a lot easier to stay on course and deal…[Read more]

I think I isolated the sabotaging thought and created a response card to learn how to resolve such mind games ( cognitive behavior therapy solution )

Yes, that is absolutely wonderful!! The battle definitely starts in the mind, and I’m finding it’s impossible to fight well when I can’t even identify the enemy (lie) that’s attacking me.…[Read more]

  • Yes, you will make it!! And, yes, I agree that it’s wonderful to be with others who are on the same journey. We can learn so much from each other!!

  • Sorry if I confused matters by saying I have a full week left, Gayle! I do remember that this challenge does not last an entire 2 weeks. I just am planning to go that long so that I can make it all the way back to my weigh-in day and know that I have 2 perfect, solid weeks behind me. And then I’ll have a few days to practice eating (and leaving…[Read more]
