  • I hate writing this, but I need help. This group helps me so much. I’ve fallen off a bit while dealing with a torn rotator cuff. I started so strong and I’m sad that I got sidetracked. Please write anything encouraging or your best tips to stay focused. I have to reach my goal and get this weight off. I miss the thin me that I used to be.    :cry:

    I think you are absolutely right throwing food away feels almost impossible, even having food in the house is hard, if it wasn’t for my hungry family I would just get rid of all the food and then go get one snickers every time meal time comes up.

    ABSOLUTELY right!  You HAVE to learn how to five-bite with regular food.  Granted, when you are done you will be eating a lot more than five bites, but you MUST be comfortable with throwing food away.  So comfortable, in fact, that you throw it away without even realizing it.  That’s a big part of what you learn here.

    Lunch and dinner done, it wasn’t as perfect as I would have liked it to be but now I have to focus on “now” and I found this sentence in an old post and it really encouraged me to not finish all the food in the house.

  • I would say 7 days from day one, Dr Lewis encourage us to only weigh once a week, but some of us can’t help ourselves and weigh daily because we just get excited about seeing the weight fall of.

    Those are great tips Catherine! Just like you said Pia, focus on today and the rest will fall into place. Even if you do fall off… pick yourself back up again and continue on. In consistency lies the key. You’ve got this sweet friend! Keep on going we’re almost there!:yahoo:

    Pia, try deep breathing to slow down your mind when you want to eat.  Sounds “gitchy”, but I find that it can help bring me to my senses.  Also, try journaling–especially when you mess up!  I messed up on Wednesday, and I wrote about how awful I felt.  Bloated, disappointed, and truthfully, I couldn’t even concentrate at work, which shows how muc…[Read more]
