Yes, me too. If I dwell on the entire amount of weight I have to go or spend too much time calculating how long it will take me, I get overwhelmed and give up. Which makes no sense logically but if I find mini checkpoints to focus on, I feel like I’m racking up the points like a champ and it feels easy and very possible!

The first week, it helped me to get up right after my 5 bites at dinner and go out for a walk while my family finished and the food was put away. I’ve also done that on a few tougher days since then. If you see you’re slipping up the same way each time, try to find a way to take that factor out of the equation, even if just for the first week. (Oh…[Read more]

Isn’t it funny when you think of all the prepwork of shopping, learning new foods and where to find them, planning, scheduling, all the other diets require. So simple it feels wrong

I’m back on track so far today, it’s still early. I’ve had coffee and water. I plan on have 3 bites of a veggie patty and 2 bites of a chicken patty for lunch and dinner.

I’m keeping it up. I had my bar today for lunch. I’m keeping my head high and my brain focused on the goal. Darn hormones!

Brush it off and just keep going, focus on the next 5 bites rather than racking up the mistakes you’ve made in the past. Those will only serve to hold you down and make you think you aren’t capable of moving forward. And you are capable since you have done so well too, get up right back on the horse.

I love the simplicity of that. everyone is telling us to do all of these difficult things to lose weight when really it’s about NOT doing something, not eating.

Right? It’s a lot more fun if I think of it like that and also if I can feel that the next milestone is very attainable.

This diet is surreal in many ways but the biggest part is watching such big numbers on the scale each week. To think of a time in my life when I worked out up to 5 hours a day kickboxing, weight lifting, running, stair climbing, and eating protein bars and shakes, only to lose half a pound to a pound a week for a couple months. How frustrating it…[Read more]

Why did you eat more at dinner?

Awesome Chloe, It’s helpful to keep reaching for the next milestone. It reminds me of when I was a kid at an arcade on a race car game where every so often the machine would yell “checkpoint!” and that feels like major progress!

I’m feeling frustrated. I didn’t do well over the weekend then lost almost 2 lbs yesterday. Then today was back up 1.2 after eating more than 5 bites at dinner. I also haven’t really had a BM in a few days. Help. Thanks.

Day 10
This is my first milestone as I was only able to stick to potatoes for 9 days before I had electrolyte difficulties. Though I feel not 100% and riding up a hill on my bike doesn’t feel so easy, I am still functioning pretty well, able to teach. I walked 3 miles today as well. I suppose I cannot expect to be running completely fine barely…[Read more]

I like that, keeps you focused on what the actual sensations are rather than just reacting to them right away.

This is great, Chloe; thanks for sharing! It goes along with my hunger exercise: focus on the hunger pain until it dissipates. Focus on its size, its color, its location, its activity, etc. Does the hunger have claws and teeth? How many? Is it snarling or making some other sound? Then practice cornering it from all sides in your mind until…[Read more]

Great plan! I agree it helps me too knowing I will be logging my day for others to see and it’s especially helpful to be in the loop with others who already understand and accept this diet!

Hey Dr Lewis, yes, I mean that if you consistently have a larger bite than maybe 1/5 of a snickers for the first week if that is what is causing her to fall off and binge. then week two, get down to the appropriate size. But yes, consistent in size no matter what amount to keep from being hungry.
