  • Nice Lynda! Keep pushing! :) i love before and after pictures of people losing weight, so vicariously gratifying. Can’t wait to do one myself too.

  • Hi Rachel! Wow i feel like we have gone through similar journeys. I too had gotten up to about 183 and resolved to change, dropped to 173 and then knew i needed some community support to continue.

Oh and I was doing the same thing!: eating a high volume vegan diet which did not serve me well.

I also have gotten deeply into meditation practice…[Read more]

  • I’ve had 4 days off with the feeder. ( The husband) For now that’s 4 days to many. He’s self employed so he takes off when I have the days off. Today is our last day together. It’s been a disaster for food. No lie he’s ordered pizza to be delivered 3 times in a week ( no lie) I’m really angry. Of course I caved. I feel like I’ve put back on e…[Read more]

  • Hi Rachel!

So you took the first big leap and came here.  GREAT!  Now, can you take the next big leap forward?  Can you eat NOTHING but a Snickers bar, twice a day, water and coffee, for a whole week?  It will challenge your constitution, but the reward is extraordinary.  So, what do you think?

  • I LOVE it!!   :yahoo:

  • Day 36

topping up. it’s impossible to eat “normally”. That is, I cannot physically eat more than 1/3 of what I used to eat on a daily basis, which caused me to be overweight. I was initially worried about having this “top up day” because I thought it would hinder my progress but I am down another 5 lbs this week to 151. So I am just keeping with…[Read more]

  • So, I’m down another 6 pounds again. Didn’t think I could keep this pace up, but so far, so good. I don’t want to be doing 5 bites forever, so I’m racing to the finish line. I’m looking forward to being slim this summer. Our summers are really hot, so I’m hoping to feel a lot more comfortable in the heat. I promise to post a before and after shot…[Read more]

  • HI Needing this,

So I’ve lost another 6 pounds. I really didn’t think I could keep up this pace, but keep thinking about the prize at the end of this race. I haven’t worn a light coloured swim suit in 23 years. Always black to hide the extra weight. I have picked out a swim suit I want to wear down at the pool, where the local pool manager tried…[Read more]

  • Lynda,
I messed up resetting today! I realize even more how my husband is not really okay with this as I thought, or I am noticing how easily I’ve gotten pulled in in the past to his food fest. Wow awareness is powerful but making me angry that I have fallen for his food fest so long. It’s just not healthy mentally or physically…. more dyn…[Read more]

  • Day 35

    08/18/18

Weighing in tomorrow. Super excited to see where i am at.

Lunch and dinner were just clif bars today.

I did a lot of hiking and swimming and it was a struggle, but not nearly to the extent that i expected. And i felt well enough after taking some breaks to keep going as if my energy levels were completely restored(which is…[Read more]

  • Welcome Rachel,

Wine has been one of my weaknesses. My partner is a wine executive and gets a huge wine allowance. So I have been giving it away. When I’m in maintenance, I’m saving it for social occasions only. I dropped a really expensive liquor in a fruit cake yesterday. It tasted great.

  • Stay off the scales if it’s making you overthink the plan. I was picking at the lasagna while cooking today, but I’m skipping my 5 bites in lieu, so should still be on track. I have to weigh in tomorrow, so I’m just following the plan today. I have gotten rid of anything I don’t like the taste of. It’s amazing how much food you buy because its…[Read more]

  • Hi everyone,

Returning to the 5BD after being away for nearly a year.  The last few times I have tried this, I did not have much self-confidence nor the right tools to help with emotions and stress.  I never lost more than 10lbs, before giving in to outside pressures.  I also was not truly practicing self-love and care.  Funny, Gayle’s jour…[Read more]

  • Lynda
6lbs a week is fantastic! If we could only get our body to cooperate as we would like. I just blew today.😏🤨Back to counting in the am. I also think I just need to stay off the scale so much. I think I’m putting to much pressure on myself and just weigh the once a week. Lynda your so right the time is going to pass anyway. I just need to j…[Read more]

  • I haven’t lost weight as fast as you NeedingThis, but aiming for a perfect week and keeping consistency at 6 pounds a week. Fingers crossed. This is a lot easier than busting your but down at the gym and getting angry because you are not loosing weight. You can just get on with your life while loosing weight. Today I only ordered a chicken burger…[Read more]

  • I’ve noticed that fat has redistributed on me. I lost it all on my legs and arms and this morning I looked in the mirror and my stomach has shrunk. Hoping to loose 2 pounds before weigh in tomorrow. I’ll just be glad to be only able to pinch an inch on my stomach. :crazyexcited:

  • Try grabbing a tea or coffee after you have finished your five bites. It keeps your hands busy and stops you picking.

  • So people close to me have started to notice I’ve lost weight. I got “Gee, you’ve lost weight” from a friend and told them what I am doing. The husband who is a diabetic was a bit annoyed as he’s lost 10 kg over 12 weeks. So I just told him this is the hardcore, no BS diet. race till the finish line. And I’m not eating cardboard to get there. Deep…[Read more]

  • Went back to the bar on Friday as my kid ate McDonalds. Not tempted to pick. So off the challenge today Sat and stuck to 5 bites of a chicken burger. But looking to have a nice variety tonight. My 12 son is cooking.
