Just checking in because I am absolutely starving, I did really well today 5 bites of bread and cheese for lunch and 5 bites of chocolate and crisps for dinner. My husband is currently eating cake and drinking tea, and I am not feeling tempted because I am enjoying feeling the fat melting of my body

Right. Here we are all friends running the same race with the same playbook in hand. And as each person crosses the finish line, it’s feels like we scored another one for the team. Go Five-Biters!!

Libby–I am SO EXCITED for you! You are EXACTLY RIGHT ON! When you 5-bite correctly, as you are, it is remarkably liberating. You can eat absolutely anything, and five bites of what you are craving is often much more filling than 100 bites of something you’re not really craving. I cannot wait to see where the loss of the next block of wei…[Read more]

Hi LM —
When you are in social situations, imagine that you are playing a game. It’s a challenge–a very difficult game–but have fun playing it and set out to win it. Your game is to get through the entire night, as hard as it might be, on 5 bites of regular food. Go in with that mindset and prove to yourself that you do indeed have the ex…[Read more]

Thanks Gayle. I had a couple extra bites today so I am a bit discouraged. I am struggling to deal with the social outings and eating with other people. I can’t decline eating with others as it’s family or going out with people but right now I find it hard to stop at just 5 bites of real food. Bars are working well but real food is a lot tou…[Read more]

Hi Dr. Lewis! And slimming station peeps

It’s been going great. I had a plateau for a few weeks!! (but still able to maintain a very new found sense of (effortless) control —coming from the relief of knowing that I know how to 5 bite…) (it’s like being lost WITH a map and compass instead of just being completely lost with nothing)The issue…[Read more]

Thank you Gayle for the reminders, I didn’t make it through yesterday I had a small portion of the main course and a portion of dessert After that I was in agony and had to go lie down (used my toddlers bedtime as an excuse to do that) terrible experience it was so so so pain full, guess that’s what it feels like when gastric bypass patients try…[Read more]

Weight: 115.2 (2 pounds to go!)
WOW oh WOW! I broke new ground today. I have NEVER seen this weight since my early teens!! Also, definitely don’t feel too thin.
Boy am I glad that I pushed through the sticky moments yesterday. I was so tired and depleted but knew that I needed to hold strong.
Can’t wait to get to goal and HOVER there. Trying to…[Read more]

Who wants to WIN in their personal weight loss game?
Having successful weekends changes everything. Once we get control of our weekend eating we are on our way to SKINNY VILLE – getting there and staying there. It’s really about changing our behaviors and patterns. The majority of dieters manage to get through the week but lose focus on…[Read more]

Hi Pia-
It is getting through occasions like this that change EVERYTHING! It feels so great when we PROVE to ourselves that we can get through a food filled event without indulging and it makes it easier for the next time we are faced with the same situation. I used to just cheat and then spend 3-4 days of super strict dieting just to get…[Read more]
