I am sorry I went quiet for a week. Time for a reset tomorrow. My numbers are still the same which is a relief since I haven’t gained but I haven’t been going in the right direction. I am taking a different mindset with reset this time: I am setting a timer for the next 72 hours to get through the hardest days and when I am discouraged I can loo…[Read more]

Hi! This is day one for me. I tried to jump on the meeting (late) tonight but maybe I missed it. I have been trying to start this for months and can’t seem to make it past 2 days. And then I end up bingeing. So I’ve actually gained a lot of weight as I’ve tried and failed like every day! Ugh. I feel like I just need some help and accountability.…[Read more]

Right. Stay focused and get it done. Just do it. I say this over and over, but it’s SO MUCH easier in the long run to just do it and get it done. When you do cross the finish line, you will feel AMAZING!!!

Hi Chloe-
I feel like “breaking food addiction” is actually a practiced skill that we need to continue to exercise. I can be so detached from food when I get the sugar out of body (excess complex carbs) and stop the “habits” of grabbing the foods that cause me to become mindless and repeating the same behaviors that keep me obsessed with food. I…[Read more]

Day 3
Breakfast: toast with almond butter, 5 bites
Lunch: Miso ramen soup 5 bites plus the broth
Lots of temptations at work but no slip ups. I seem to be doing pretty okay energy-wise. Looking forward to my numbers tomorrow. I see myself finally dropping into the mindset where I realize that food is not going to solve any of the…[Read more]

Brilliant. You are on track, Gayle. Today–more than any other day that you’ve been doing this–is the one that you need to put all your effort into. TODAY is the most important day of your journey. You MUST find a way to stick to just 5 bites tonight, and get to bed. When you wake tomorrow the sun will shine brighter than it has in a very…[Read more]

And remember, of course, that no foods are off limits. This will help avoid ironic rebound.

Yes 130 is the goal. Getting into the 140s is one of the major milestones though. I don’t seem to have an issue with carbs or sugar and overeating on those especiallly if I know it’s okay to have them. When I have the mentality that I can never have something, it makes me want it even more. I think in psychology it’s called the “ironic rebound…[Read more]

How fantastic Chloe! Every day you are getting lighter in weight and stronger in energy/vitality!
Those Halloween treats are so pervasive where I work too! Candy galore!! I am also a pediatric therapist and will likely take my kids for trick or treating around the office next week. I have a two year tradition – this year will be the third- of NO…[Read more]

Hi Caitlinn-
I also love the focus and perspective I get from the CHAT with Dr. Lewis. I will be on next week. I am so glad I came back every time to get lower. Love how I look and feel at 115 but Dr. L wants me to see what 113 feels like.
My day yesterday was great and today is good so far. I start the day early and I find that the only thing…[Read more]

I agree Chloe! Sometimes I lose focus — not a lot. It reminds me of why I like to eat less. I love to indulge too and even eat MORE than 5 B in maintenance but just NOT to the point of excess. I do not have a BINGE and FAST or ED history but have an all or nothing mentality sometimes. Again – the extremes are less and less. The slipping happens…[Read more]

Thanks Gayle. Yes knowing what to expect helps so much to alleviate the fear around eating this way that I experienced the first time through.

Day 2
I weighed in at 167 this morning. It is going down quick and I already feel so much better than I expected right away. I noticed it most with my ease of movement and my ability to climb up…[Read more]

I experienced terrible digestive issues when I attempted to get back to a “normal” eating pattern too. I actually found that I could eat 150 bites over the course of the day. I was very sick for a little while as my body readjusted. I think the feeling in the body after bingeing is so much worse than anything I have felt on 5 bites. Anyways just…[Read more]

Yes! I struggled a lot with becoming complacent my first time around. When I hit the 130’s I was satisfied because I hadn’t seen that number since I was 14 so I never reached my ultimate goal. Today I’m doing well! I joined the video chat last night and found it to be very motivating and helped really put everything in to perspective. I had my…[Read more]

How are you doing today Caitlinn? You have so little to lose yet some days it can seem so far away. Sometimes, I would become complacent when close and I wasted a lot of time. All the wasted time caused frustration.I wish that I JUST DID IT a while ago. It’s so much fun to get there, be there and stay there. Sometimes, I used to feel guilty t…[Read more]

Hi Chloe –
I think the second time around will be so much easier! You know what to expect and you have the tools and the skills. You have already proven that you can be successful. It’s so great to have both the knowledge and the experience.
Let’s stay connected! The extra weight is going to pour off you.

Hi Everyone-
I can’t lie! It started to mess with my head when my best friend and boyfriend said I was too skinny. Especially my boyfriend. He actually likes a “skinny” body and my skinny body but when I got to 115 and 114 ish, he said I should stop losing weight. Also, I noticed way more loose skin that wasn’t there at the higher weight. Then,…[Read more]
