The key is to make the ultimate commitment to crossing the finish line, then just settle into a [boring] routine of 5 bites twice a day. The first few day you are hungry, but then that goes away and you are flying. Stay strong! You’ve got this!

Thank you!
Day 5
Starting weight 247. current weight 238
It is definitely getting so much easier. I’m struggling with having a few extra bites here and there. But I haven’t allowed it to derail me like it has in the past. I’m going to try for a perfect day today.

Thanks doc, you’re totally right. It’s just interesting to think about the math on it. It really concretizes what is happening moment to moment as I breathe out knowing weight is being lost.
Day 2
Lunch: 5 bites of vegan italian sausage
Dinner: 5 bites of spaghetti and not-meatballs
Today has been incredibly easy and I even trained parkour for…[Read more]

right. You may go back to more after you lose the weight, but let’s focus on getting the stomach flat first, OK?

Yes. If a bar is truly 8 bites for you, then I would allow you to eat 8 bites, and EXACTLY 8 bites, at every meal. But, a couple of things:
1. If your weight starts to stall, your bites are getting too big. And when you are eating more than 5 bites, the difference in volume become magnified.
2. Our objective is to taste the food and to fi…[Read more]

Oops. Stay strong. If the hunger becomes intense and drives you toward the kitchen, remind yourself how uncomfortable the pain of stomach cancer is. That should help to turn you around.

GREAT! Welcome! You WILL see the scale move down … a lot … without changing a thing that you eat. But you do have to eat just 5 bites of it. Your hunger will set quickly, and you’ll be on your way to exceptional living! I can’t wait!

Your math sounds right. The trick is to stick to the program perfectly and see what you actually end up losing!

169 this morning. Back in the 160s. I checked my weight loss over night to see how much I am breathing out and it looks like I am only losing about half a lb over the course of 8 hours. So that’s 1.5 lbs per day which is 10.5 lbs per week. That’s 42 lbs in 4 weeks. If I am eating 4 oz of food per day that’s 28 oz per week and 112 oz per month…[Read more]

Day 1 (again)
I was at 172 this morning.
I think not eating in the morning helps quite a lot with hunger issues. I did not feel very hungry today at all. Was even considering skipping dinner but thought better of it. I had plain coffee for breakfast and even though I have not been a coffee drinker for most of my life, I am starting to enjoy the…[Read more]
