Fine. Then do bars. The key is to keep experimenting until you find a regimen of food that you can make work with the five bite diet. Maybe, when you finally do try again with eating “real food” you will try less interesting food at first, like boring fast food items. Then build from there. But good luck with 6 days of bars! Just imagi…[Read more]

OK. Good. Keep noting what those triggers to eat are.

Thanks all. I am on my way! I had some extra bites yesterday. Dr Lewis you had mentioned in our Monday call to track what triggered the bites – for me it’s when I get too tired. I get tired and then to try and cope to stay awake or deal with getting grouchy from too much caffeine I have extra bites because I feel like I deserve it and my body j…[Read more]

No, Dr. Lewis, I didn’t honor my commitment. I am down three pounds, but I ate more bites in an attempt to quell the hollow headache and get some sleep. I’ve bought six days worth of bars, and will try the plan that way. I’ve been using “real food,” but I obviously find that food too interesting! Thanks, as always, for your unwavering support of…[Read more]

I just have to stay away from the alcohol. Which is pretty easy at home. Tarek doesn’t drink and I’ll make sure I’m the driver when we go out.

Every reason you can think of to evict the fat is a wonderful reason, and I support that reason 100%.

Right. Don’t give yourself excuses to eat more than 5 bites! My recommendation: put the taekwondo on hold until after you’ve lost all of your weight. Good luck!

I agree. It sounds like you are in the groove. Enjoy your bites when you get them, and enjoy the ability to not eat–and not feel the need to eat–when it’s not mealtime.

Hi Bienedp6,
i wanted to tell you that I’ve a lot about that over the last 2 mos and actually “wasted” 2 mos of my Orangetheory membership bc I couldn’t get out of it that fast. $150/ mo. But it was well worth the wasted $300 to be 123 instead of 140, where I was for 5 mos of my hardcore training there. I was taking low key tennis lessons…[Read more]

Hi! I do 3 hours of Taekwondo a week (1.5 hrs 2x a week). I don’t get home after until 8 and I’m starving on those days. I haven’t gotten over the 3 day hump with 5 bites so I don’t know if I will still be very hungry after class. Any tips? I keep making excuses to eat more than 5 bites.

Day 2 of being super consistent and strict. Just ease and fun! Had 5 bites of a cookie at lunch and will do a bar at dinner. Will be a later dinner due to errands and the season. Lots of hot drinks – tea and decaf coffee and water. Getting much easier! I love the ability to eat anything. Tomorrow will be a bar at lunch and supper out. Didn’t w…[Read more]

Wow Dr. Lewis! I never realized that or thought about the fat being everywhere. I get headaches occasionally and especially sinus headaches. I want the fat gone but I haven’t committed. Time to get it done! I am 5′ tall and 195 at this point. How much weight if I was perfect for a week (bars let’s say) could I lose? Thanks!

I really like this quote from Dr. Lewis about establishing new routines: To also know you can have anything you want to eat in just five bites and feel so in control is so incredible. Read the book every day and focus on your day one day at a time. Drink lots of [decaf tea] and water and keep reminding yourself that you are creating a new pattern…[Read more]
