Fine. You can miss that full feeling, but the next time you really overeat you’ll realize how uncomfortable it really makes you feel. I used to be in the same boat. I loved that “fat and happy” sensation after squeezing the last bite of pie into my already overstuffed belly. But now that I’m thin, my view has completely shifted. I actu…[Read more]

Hi. Yes. It is hard … but it IS doable, and the results are spectacular. So, as hard as it is, it is totally worth the fight.
But, to make the whole process, all said and done, as easy as humanly possible, you HAVE to follow the diet EXACTLY as I’ve laid it out. I really hate the term calorie. It is so meaningless and misleading. Ple…[Read more]

I fell off the wagon. I did count calories but always hungry. Realized 5 bites was keeping my hunger down. I’m started back tomorrow . This is so hard for me. -

Yes, the strong urge to keep eating passed after I posted my update. Fortunately, just writing about it shifted my focus enough to talk me off the ledge and I was able to throw the rest of the food away afterwards.
It takes a great deal of willpower at times to stop after the fifth bite, but it does feel really good afterwards knowing that I…[Read more]

But … after you finished typing the above message, didn’t you feel really good? I’m hoping you were able to just throw everything away after that, and that you felt really empowered.
When you sat down to eat your sandwich you were hungry. Surprisingly, 5 bites adequately filled you up, but OH MY! would you have loved to take more bites. …[Read more]

Exactly right, Chloe. Let me repeat what you said: ” … [Motivation wanes as you look and feel better because the problem doesn’t seem as urgent].” So true! But what I think is this: As you lose more and more weight, your motivation changes from NEEDING to lose weight to WANTING to lose weight. Ultimately I want for you to want–really want…[Read more]

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Day 11</p>
Yesterday was harder mentally rather than physically but I made it through! I got freaked out from reading about complications with very low calorie diets. My girlfriend helped keep me on track. We’ve been making such good food lately now that she has her own place, I became envious of her ability to eat all…[Read more] -

Alrighty. The last two days were perfect bar days. Today is now day 18 and I decided to mix it up and have real food for my second five bites. I made myself a steak and cheese sandwich, kind of Mexican style with avocado and hot sauce on top, but I swear stopping at five bites was hard! Oddly, I find that it’s now relatively painless to do when…[Read more]

Day 9
Went on a bike ride today, about 12 miles with no difficulty whatsoever. I am just blown away still. It seems like higher powered movements suffer, but low intensity stuff is just fine.
I’ve also noticed that if I sit or lay down for awhile my energy can be super low when I get up but if I just get up and start moving around, getting the…[Read more]

Day 8
Yesterday
It was easy peasy for the most part but I ate dinner at a different time than usual and was a little tired/irritable from that. I gotta try and keep the eating times consistent.

That’s awesome. I find documentaries and news about the obesity crisis motivating too. We will not be part of that statistic here!
On that note, here’s an article I read today that’s worth checking out. There’s a clip embedded in the article from Bill Maher about fat shaming that is a great watch too:
Big Think: Obesity is the leading…[Read more]

Great point! I am really noticing changes in the way my clothes fit, so I’ll try to stay focused on those non-scale wins to keep me motivated during these slower weeks.
I weighed in this week down 5 pounds. Which is actually better than I feared, so I’m feeling pretty good.
Definitely hoping for a bigger whoosh next week though.Breakfast -…[Read more]
