Day 3 of 32 day bar challenge:
Yesterday was hard! Luna Salted Carmel bar for lunch, and a Luna Lemon Zest bar for dinner. Lots of coffee for appetite suppressant. I was VERY hungry in the evening. Took a small bite of my son’s personal vegan pizza that was delivered with the wrong toppings, and that he refused to eat. Immediately reali…[Read more]

Day two!
For my first bar I was really craving something warm so I took the advice from Susan from older posts. I heated up my snickers bar a little bit! Wouldn’t do it every time but it was a nice change up.
Second bar I had a snickers ice cream candy bar. Super good!
experimenting a bit today TGIF

Great. You’ve come this far. Now, without changing a thing, can you keep it going for the whole day?

You were 105 in high school. No one should ever weigh more than they did when they were in school. So yes: your ideal weight should be 105. The closer you are to 105 the healthier you are. The difference between 115 and 105 might be small number wise in terms of health benefits, but the difference in knowing that you actually cross the fin…[Read more]

Day 2 of 32 day bar challenge:
Yesterday was a great and perfect day! Luna Salted Carmel bar for lunch, and a Luna Lemon Zest bar for dinner. I was a little hungry in the evening, and had a little trouble sleeping due to the coffee during the day. But woke up feeling so much lighter!
TOM started today, which explains some of th…[Read more] -

Hi Becky,
In spring of 2009 when I discovered the 5-bite diet, I had already been inside my current maintenance range for about 3 years. During the past 11 years, I have sometimes used the concepts in the 5-diet to help me stay inside my maintenance weight range. My normal maintenance eating plan is eating extremely small portions of whatever I…[Read more] -

Even while following that plan consistently, my weight sometimes gets near the top of my maintenance-weight-range, and I have frequently used the 5-bite plan to help me drop back down lower into that range. In my own 5-bite dieting, I’ve always chosen to count bites while simultaneously counting calories. My normal maintenance practice is to w…[Read more]

Pandemics, politics, protests, murder hornets…enough stress to derail even the strongest of minds. What are your best strategies to prevent stress eating?
Here are a few of mine:
- Take a hot bath while binge watching a favorite tv show on Netflix (I prop up my iPad somewhere nearby for safe viewing)
- Drink something warm – lavender stress…

Hi Phyllis,
Can I ask you about your maintenance? Do you frequently have to go back to 5 bites or were you able to find a certain number of bites that works for you? I know I’ve heard of people eating one meal a day for maintenance. Just curious!

I purchased these mints that make sugar taste super gross for like an hour! That’s if you consume sugar after letting the mint dissolve. I’m going to use them to help when I have cravings besides my bar. Just thought I’d share!

Super excited for this challenge! Ready to get this done, and as fast as possible. We will see where I am in 30 days. I may extend this out a little longer if needed.
@drlewis – I have my end-goal weight set for 110. Is that too high? Should I aim for 105? Just curious. 5’3 is my height. I was around the 105 weight in my high school days,…[Read more]
