  • Fantastic post, Michele!

First, you are right.  Stay away from all other “advice” out there.  That “advice” is why America has gone from a 10% obesity rate to a 50% obesity rate in just 20 years!

I LOVE your insight.  When you compare the pain and misery of being hungry, feeling weak, and headaches to the much-longer-lasting pain that stems fr…[Read more]

  • Even though I am already skinny and can eat a lot, I still love the feeling of undereating.  There is something unique and magical about it.  I love being able to do what I know others cannot.  Obviously, if I fall below the threshold where I don’t want my body to go, I eat more, but I love BEING ABLE to eat less.  Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE foo…[Read more]

  • 2 pounds in 2 days.  Great!  Just imagine, Lynda, where you would be if you did THE EXACT SAME THING for … what? … just 2 months!  Put in the perspective of the rest of living days on this planet, two months is absolutely nothing!!  Before the end of November you would be in the body of a supermodel.  Extraordinary health.  And would you reall…[Read more]

  • Pia–that’s kind of the idea of eating the same food over and over for a week or so.  I typically recommend Snickers, but it could be anything.  If you really like grilled cheese sandwiches, for example, try having 5 bites of one for every meal for a week.  It won’t be long before you realize all the bites taste the same–they always have and th…[Read more]

  • Right, Sharon.  The diet is the epitome of simple and freeing.  When you just do it, everything falls into place and makes sense.  So, to everyone out there:  Just make the commitment and tough it out until your hungerstat resets.

  • The weekends are only challenging in that you don’t have work to distract you and take your mind off of food.  At home, food is always just 20 feet away, and without distractions we find ourselves always migrating toward the kitchen.  BUT, you don’t have the responsibilities that you may during the work week, so I view it as an opportunity to r…[Read more]

  • Not that you don’t want to go through another holiday season over-stretching your clothes, but rather that you want to go through these holidays SKINNY.  Right?   You are doing this because you want to be thin, not because you don’t like the fat, right?

  • Right.  I don’t recommend eating any particular kind of food over another.  Protein and fat food do not fill you up more than other food–it’s just a volume thing.  Your body is seeking a certain volume.  I want to reset that to 5 bites-worth, then keep it there until you are done.  The actual make-up of that food is irrelevant.  So eat whate…[Read more]

  • Your plan, Katie, is perfect.  But you WILL get there a lot sooner than 40 days.  But just focus on the next meal–the next bar.  Make it to 12.  Enjoy every bite of your bar.  Taste it.  Savor it.  Then throw the wrapper away, and find a way to pass time until 5:00.  Repeat.  If you get hungry in-between bars, remind yourself why you are on this…[Read more]

  • Food is always tempting, but it’s enjoyment is SO SHORT LIVED.  Don’t give in!  So, practice distraction.  Stay away from food as much as you can.  Throw everything away.  Right now ALL of your attention should be on getting to the finish line, and only then can you  re-engage in life’s normal routines.

  • Fantastic!  It sounds like you are out of the gates with a bang!  Focus all the time, Katie.  Focus on the hunger coming, and then recognize it when it goes.  When it’s there, focus on every aspect of the hunger that you can think of, from it’s size to it’s movement to it’s color.  Corner the hunger in from all sides with your mind.  All of the s…[Read more]

  • Great!  Then go all the way.  Have a multivitamin and coffee for breakfast, a Snickers bar for lunch, another one for dinner, and do it perfectly for 1 week.  Can you?   :yahoo:

  • Pia–think about how much you really want to get skinny.  You really do!  Think about how much you’ve written here–documenting your ups and downs.  You’ve written a ton!  Don’t you just want to get all of this done … I mean, really done … once and for all?  No more talking about what you should do or what you intend to do.  Just do it.  DO N…[Read more]

  • YES!!  That’s EXACTLY right!  Eat only the best of the best, and throw the rest away.  And once you’ve had one bite of the best, you’ve had the whole portion–no point in having another bite.  You’ve got this!   :yahoo:

  • That’s it.  I’ve been doing this for a lot of years.  Untangle the confusion: it’s very simple.  Carbon, by weight, in vs. carbon, by weight, out.  But let’s make it even simpler: 5 bites twice a day.  It guarantees that your carbon intake is minimal, it guarantees that you will be full all the time (after the third day), and it doesn’t limit you…[Read more]

  • Hi Rachel!

So you took the first big leap and came here.  GREAT!  Now, can you take the next big leap forward?  Can you eat NOTHING but a Snickers bar, twice a day, water and coffee, for a whole week?  It will challenge your constitution, but the reward is extraordinary.  So, what do you think?

  • Good recognition.  If we sit around food too long (like after we are done eating), we pick.  Why?  Just ’cause!  And it’s such mindless eating–it serves absolutely no purpose except to occupy time.  So, get the food away, or get away from the food, and engage in any other distraction.  Your life is worth it!

  • If you truly want to be skinny, then just do it.  Remember, this diet is YOURS and YOURS alone.  This is YOU.  You are a five-biter.  You don’t need to convince anyone else of what you are doing or the benefits of it.  You just need to do this for you.  In that regard, there is no point in procrastinating; you don’t achieve anything by waiti…[Read more]
