ABSOLUTELY! I actually expect a lot more this first month. Focus, focus, focus. Be PERFECT, and the whole world will be your oyster.

Think about this, Pia: volume wise, the extra bites you ate amount to relatively little extra volume, and today you certainly don’t remember the flavor of those extra bites (you’re still tasting the first bite), BUT you do feel that those extra bites let you down. You didn’t live up to the expectations you set for yourself. So was it worth it? …[Read more]

But really, Pia, you’re not missing out on anything even while you are on this diet. Yes the volume is small, but if you try and eat five different bites of food for a meal is seems to be quite a complete feast! I really don’t want you to feel that you are missing out at all. Right?

Chewing gum is great. So is [slowly] drinking hot coffee, hot tea, or just plain hot water.

drlewis replied to the topic Help! in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 7 years, 7 months ago
OK, Beth. Then let’s just commit and get this done. Start today. Eat your 10 bites a day (That’s TEN bites!!–10 different [really small] meals a day! That’s a TON!!) and not a bite more. Count down the days until you cross the finish line. Drink water, coffee/tea, and take a multivitamin, and just do it! You’ve done this before. You k…[Read more]

Right on, guys! Think of this program like a boot camp. I want everyone to have a sense of urgency about getting to the finish line. Only then does your true life begin!

You need something you can go to that doesn’t contain a lot of carbon, and something with caffeine would be an added bonus. So again, I strongly encourage a cup of coffee during this times. As you know, I don’t want you to snack, but if you did, I guess a small bag of potato chips would be best–something that weighed no more than an ounce and g…[Read more]

Hi Mimi! Welcome! I’m thrilled that you are here, and I think you will find that this program is EXACTLY what you need.
First, would you please fill out the weight tracker info for me? Thanks so much!
Secondly, as we get older, our bodies prioritize storing fat in and around our stomach. This is bad for your health, and it’s bad for cos…[Read more]

Right. Stay strong and LEARN. Learn the triggers that cause you to lose focus and avoid them. Learn how good it feels to stay strong despite a barrage of external pressure.

Great job, Kristina!
Right: Your weight does not define you. It just defines your health. So lose all of you excess weight because you NEED to. But the new, older, wiser you will find the strength, courage, and knowledge to avoid the psychological/emotional/physical trauma you suffered when you were lower in weight and younger in years. THIS…[Read more]

YES!! Success–in all things–stems from being able to delay gratification. You can always wait and taste a bite of that later. You don’t need it right this second. Excellent recognition.

The reality is, Aniebee, that the extra chocolate chips will affect your weight loss, but you should still see a significant drop on the scale if you been able to adhere to the diet otherwise.
Again–especially for people who have had eating disorders–this diet is perfect for you. It gives you absolute control without doing any harm to your…[Read more]

I love that, Aniebee. And everyday that you are on this diet you get the chance to practice more. So, for those who have a lot of weight to lose and are on this program for a long time, the good news is that they get a LOT of practice, and all that practice will help keep them thin once they get to the finish line.

drlewis replied to the topic Why do we get dizzy when losing weight? in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 8 years ago
Add salt if that makes you feel better. Salt contains no carbon, obviously, so it doesn’t affect your fat stores in any way. You may hold on to a little extra water, which will affect the scale, but who cares? Ultimately it’s just about getting all the fat off the body. Lastly, if you are drinking too much water, you may actually be deficient…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic Why do we get dizzy when losing weight? in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 8 years ago
Right–it’s part of the process–but there are two main reasons why this happens:
1. your blood pressure drops immediate when you start to lose weight, and the RELATIVE hypotension (a lower BP than what your body is used to) will make you dizzy. But your body adjusts quickly. And 2. you may be a little dehydrated. A lot of the necessary water we…[Read more] -

Great. Right–don’t overthink. Rather, become a robot: 5 bites for lunch, 5 bites for dinner. Water, coffee, multivitamin. Repeat.

Thanks for this post Rx.
Your metabolism isn’t “screwed up.” Your heart still pumps as hard and as frequently as it always has, and your breathing the same as it has always been (the end result of metabolized carbon). But regardless, it is what it is! You just need to adjust to your current energy requirements to fit your current expenditure…[Read more]

ILUVMYCOFFEE –
You remind me of an Actor Christian Bale, who played an anorexic in a movie the Machinist. His wife, Cebe, and my wife were good friends at church. Anyway, Christian says that when he got down to about 120 to play the role, he felt a remarkable sense of calmness and ease. It is a great thing to get those inflammatory cytokines…[Read more]
