Good recognitions, Chloe, and great job getting right back on track.  And I totally agree:  STAY AWAY FROM CANNABIS! :good:

Great deal.  Now, actually try and stick to just 2 of those bars a day.  It’s tough.  It might seem as hard as some of your toughest workouts in the gym.  But the results are quick and they are spectacular.  So hang in there–you’ve got this!!! :yahoo:

  • Hi BK.  Back to basics:  You are serious about wanting to lose weight, right?  That’s why you are here, right?  You want to lose weight because you want to be thin (and all of the health benefits that go along with being thin), not because you don’t like the fat, right?

Then you’ve got to start enjoying–truly enjoying the process.  Enjoy and…[Read more]

  • Indeed!  Stress and anxiety are triggers for most people to eat, and eating makes you feel good–for a moment.  But then you feel even worse for hours to come!  I think the best stress reliever is to imagine yourself skinny, maximally healthy, and free of the stress you are feeling today.  Getting skinny WILL get you there, but until you are the…[Read more]

  • Great.  Live off of cheap, pre-packaged food.  Eat quickly, and throw everything away.  If you want to spend TIME eating, for it’s enjoyment, slowly sip on hot coffee or tea.  But this is a great opportunity to stick to the diet perfectly.  Again, imagine how incredible the finish line will feel.  What are you waiting for?

  • Also, Beth, taking baths (long baths–really, really long baths) are great.  Walking (slowly, sort of a lazy meander) is great too, if you do it for a LONG time.  Books, long movies are all great.  Anything to occupy time and take your mind off your stomach and off of food. :good:

  • Exactly right.  But there’s nothing that feels as good as when you succeed in achieving your own personal goals.  So set those benchmarks and hold yourself accountable.  But also enjoy the process.  You are able to do something that very few other people are willing to do themselves.  And it feels SO GOOD to be able to d that.  Take a few bites…[Read more]

  • Food has very little VALUE.  It tastes good and satisfies hunger, but has no LASTING value.  When we go out and spend $25 to watch a movie, as least we leave with memories of the plot, scenes, and characters.  When we we eat, it tastes great and it satisfies hunger, but then we are left with no memory of the food.  In fact, the only thing we not…[Read more]

  • Right.  But once you realize that this is your top priority, and that, without a doubt in your mind, you are going to do the plan perfectly, this enormous weight is instantly lifted off your shoulders.  You instantly feel excited and giddy about the future.  Because, from that point on, no one and nothing can stop you! :crazyexcited:

  • Brilliant, Shelly, BUT … might I recommend adding Lexapro to your regimen (5 or 10 mg) and take a FULL phentermine tab.  This regimen is really good for controlling your hunger but reducing the increased anxiety that can come from Phentermine.  I think it would work very well for you. :-)

  • Sean — Of course!!  You can eat Snickers until you cross the finish line, and doing so would be one of the healthiest/safest things you could do for your body (knowing that other foods put more carbon back into your body, delay losing weight, and that the longer fat sits on your body the more unhealthy it is.)  What you eat or don’t eat isn’t w…[Read more]

  • Shelly–you are right.  Losing weight is must, and if you must, have surgery.  But you won’t be eating any differently that what I’ve suggested here.  The surgery just forces you to adhere to 5 bites.  So the question you really need to ask yourself is this:  Is surgery, its cost and all if its complications, easier than developing and iron…[Read more]

  • Also, Kristina, feeling a little “empty” in the stomach is … exciting!  It’s a gentle reminder of where you are going.  It’s a place that’s unique, powerful, and exceptionally healthy.  You will be the envy of everyone you know.  And yet, all you need to do to get there is to hold off on eating mindlessly for awhile.  Look forward to the chal…[Read more]

  • Hi Afrodite!  Indeed: Welcome!

The actual oz size is not important; only that your five bites stay roughly the same, volume wise, for you.  So pick up a bar and start eating it.  Is it five bites for you?  A little more; a little less?  If it’s more than five bites, throw the rest away, and walla! … you are beginning to develop a sense of what…[Read more]

  • Fair enough, Shelly, but you might consider eating something room temperature (like a bar) and then DRINKING something hot, like coffee (tea in your case) or really hot water.

  • Oh that’s great to hear.

There is nothing can change the fact we have control over what we eat at any given time.  All we need to think about is the present day.  I have started really journaling and it helps center me and calms me down.

I’m kind of anxious about the upcoming move, but that was one reason I started now so I can help with the p…[Read more]

  • Dear BK,

I have been where you are at. I have had so many starts and restarts.  I would justify why I could never do it, even after having a couple of really successful attempts.

Everything said here is exactly what to do to get your mindset right to do the diet.  I first heard about Dr. Lewis in 2012.  I was working in daycare, and lost 70 po…[Read more]

  • That’s a good question.  I bet it would work great as an appetite suppressant.

I’m on day 3, and it does in fact get easier.

I’m glad you are noticing this too.

It just gets better from here!

  • I cannot get into the meeting because I don’t know the password. Help!

  • Maria.  How wonderful!  I want this more than anything.

I have real hope for the first time in so long that I can heal from all of these issues.
