Right on! I LOVE that attitude.
Remember: finishing Stage 1 is like playing golf. You have to want to win. You have to want to shoot low. So you have to be perfect ALL THE TIME through to the finish line. One bad shot in golf can ruin the entire round. So, focus on the next 5 minutes. Find a way to endure the next five minutes withou…[Read more]

I would suggest to not “try” it, but rather just do it. I really do think that bars are a great way to force yourself to eat just 5 bites, and they are great ways of getting started on this program. But if there is any doubt about sticking to the program (“I’ll try,”, e.g.), then do the bars for a solid three days until your hungerstat resets. …[Read more]

Great Leonag. I will say this: when you start off, you WILL be hungry. WHAT you eat won’t change the your hungerstat or the time it takes to set it, so eat what you want to eat. But I want you to push yourself these first three days: really challenge yourself to welcome and embrace the hunger, then hone in on it when you feel it. I think you…[Read more]

Right Barbie. And this whole journey is a learning process. You will learn how to control physical hunger, mental hunger, and how much better life is when you are thin. The trick, as always, is to barrel your way to the finish line at all costs. THEN Stage 2 begins, and your life is going to be spectacular!
For now, when you get those ove…[Read more]

Ann. Fine, but don’t throw out your scale. You will need it to finely titrate your weight when you hit your magic number. For now, just use the scale once a week. But when you are skinny, step on it frequently until you know and can feel how weight fluctuates about your ideal number. I can tell you what I weigh to the 0.5 pound sens…[Read more]

I love that: … Did you lose weight?
“I have no idea!”
My take is this: Everyone–women more than men, maybe–but everyone talks and obsesses about weight, because NO ONE is at their goal weight. EVERYONE has a single number where their body runs at it’s best. Mine is 127. That may go down a pound or so decades from now, but that’s my…[Read more]

I like both of these comments. Fill up on the AROMA of food, not the actual food.
And following this regimen does free up a bunch of time. It’s all a win-win!

Yes. You can do any bar. Are there smaller/different bars that you would rather do?
If the 2 oz Snickers bar is 7 bites for you, then I’m OK with you having 7 bites for every meal. 7 for lunch, 7 for dinner. But you have to keep your bites the same size as one of your Snickers bar bites.
The oz thing is irrelevant. I just happen to know…[Read more]

How much time each day revolves around food; better yet, how much time each day to you spend actively eating or actively sitting down for a meal?
How much time each day to you sleep?
Then, how much time is left over (24 – time eating – time sleeping). Those are your waking hours that do not involve food.
So, don’t we want to naturally seek…[Read more]

These are great. I especially love, “I ONLY HAVE TO FOCUS ON MY NEXT MEAL BEING A PERFECT 5 BITE MEAL.” No matter what happens–whether you’ve been eating perfectly or not–your next meal is an opportunity to get back into a PERFECT groove.

Right, Pia. Eating extra food isn’t going to solve anything in the long run. In the short run it satisfies a craving and some hunger. But can you delay gratification for a few days to reset your hungerstat? Think of doing so as the hardest, but greatest challenge of anyone’s life. Harder than running a super-marathon (100-miles). But a few p…[Read more]

Correct. For most people, they never get their portions sizes small enough to make a difference in their weight, and they give up trying. You, on the other hand, are eating the perfect amount to make a dramatic difference in your weight and to lose ALL of it, leaving you in a truly spectacular position. When you are there you will eat small to…[Read more]
