drlewis replied to the topic I'm struggling in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 16 years ago
Yes–you absolutely can do this. Once you’ve had a bite of food ask yourself, "Is the next bite of the exact same food going to change my experience or recollection of the meal in any way?" Once you realize that the second bite is going to taste no better than the one you just ate, throw it away! It is so much more filling to have control over…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic important question for you Dr. Lewis in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 16 years ago
The mere fact that you are setting your hungerstat to a small volume ABSOLUTELY DISCOURAGES binging. You literally DON’T want to eat more. So why would you? Also, worse case scenario: you do put on a few pounds after you "pig out" at a party. No biggy! Just go right back on the diet and it’s all off again. Not only does this program NOT…[Read more]

Welcome back on the program (and here for the first time)! Yes … weight loss is a MIND GAME, and hearing others success and reading about their trials and tribulations helps you to conquer the game on your own. And, of course, it helps to play the game with the most powerful set of tools to help you accomplish that goal. That is what we have…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic Food is NOT the answer to having a fun time!!! in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 16 years, 1 month ago
Sure. Cut down to 3 bites per day. If you are just having Snickers, you won’t be missing out on various flavors, so it’s totally doable. Good luck!

At your current weight, you can expect a little more than 13 pounds per week. But be careful about becoming ‘complacent’ with your success. If you forget that you are on a diet, even for 1 meal, you will lose track of your bite count and stretch you hungerstat back out. But if you stay focused and motivated, you should lose at least this much…[Read more]

For those of you who didn’t see the show (and may want to), it is now available under the [about, video] section of this website. Let me know what you think! (They were sure out to get me, but I think I held my own. You be the judge…)

Hi!
But be careful…bigger spoons set bigger hungerstats! Still, it sounds as though you are doing well.

Yes. If all you eat are 2 Snickers a day, and take a multivitamin, you will do great. You need nothing more. The ‘stress’ of losing weight can cause hair loss, but we’ll see if that affects you. It only affects a very small portion of people who do this (in my experience < 1%).
As you tend to lose weight and become healthier, you’re tastes…[Read more]

This is a great story, Shannon. Please tell me (and everyone here), having eaten just 10 bites of food each day for the last 5 days, exactly how hungry are you? Please be honest. How often do you think about food? When you focus on your hunger, how bad is it really? How many times per day are you ‘bothered’ by your stomach growling? And…[Read more]

Welcome Davielee!
Delighted to have you as part of the group. At your weight you could (should) lose 18-20 pounds the first week. It will taper after that, but how much depends on how strict you are with your eating and how determined you are to finish the program. The sooner you are finished, the sooner your new, spectacular life begins. So…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic CLA in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 17 years ago
I think CLA is a bunch of hocus pocus. Just a waste of money. That is my opinion. You do not need to worry about ‘burning muscle’. It doesn’t happen, until ALL of your fat stores are depleted, and by that point you will be about 80 pounds.

Beautiful!! You are doing great!
I actually recommend, rather than trying to estimate a 5-Bite meal, just surround yourself with food and from it take only 5 bites. It makes you feel amazing.

Just imagine where you are going, how healthy you will be, and how spectacular you will feel. Then let that drive you to the finish line.
You mention that you ate like a pig over the last few days. Which of the extra bites of whatever you ate were so spectacular that you can still taste them? None. I didn’t think so. Remember this as you sit…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic Weight Log in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 17 years ago
Yes, our weights fluctuate throughout the day, but not for some ‘unknown’ reason. They fluctuate based on the net weight of everything that enters and leaves the body. Water and fluids DO weigh a lot, but your water balance over 24° stays the same. If not, we would all swell up like sponges or dessicate like prunes. If you drink A LOT of…[Read more]
