How true, Letileti: “Depression is not a cause for binging but it can be an excuse.”

The reality is, Aniebee, that the extra chocolate chips will affect your weight loss, but you should still see a significant drop on the scale if you been able to adhere to the diet otherwise.
Again–especially for people who have had eating disorders–this diet is perfect for you. It gives you absolute control without doing any harm to your…[Read more]

That’s exactly right: lesson learned. But try and recall how that overeating made you feel BEFORE your next 5-bite dinner.

Right. And when you are REALLY hungry for dinner tonight, remind yourself that tonight is the night when you put your foot down and stand strong. Tonight is the night that you begin living that new life you’ve been dreaming about. Tonight is the night–after all this time–that you take that first step. Yes, you are going to be hungry, but SO…[Read more]

I love that, Aniebee. And everyday that you are on this diet you get the chance to practice more. So, for those who have a lot of weight to lose and are on this program for a long time, the good news is that they get a LOT of practice, and all that practice will help keep them thin once they get to the finish line.

Right, Shelly. The evenings are hardest, because that’s our biggest meal and when most bodies are expecting a lot of food. It’s going to take 3 days to break this pattern. Again, you just have to put your foot down and do it. It is hard? Yes–but that’s what makes it exciting. No more excuses (please, not another cousin story). You alone…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic Why do we get dizzy when losing weight? in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 8 years, 2 months ago
Add salt if that makes you feel better. Salt contains no carbon, obviously, so it doesn’t affect your fat stores in any way. You may hold on to a little extra water, which will affect the scale, but who cares? Ultimately it’s just about getting all the fat off the body. Lastly, if you are drinking too much water, you may actually be deficient…[Read more]

Great on those realizations. I love your determination to be perfect with the diet. Again, you are going to be a superstar!
Having the last bite late at night will probably not affect you’r hungerstat. Your stomach had mostly emptied by the time you had that last bite, so your stomach never experienced a stretch beyond a five-bite volume. So…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic Why do we get dizzy when losing weight? in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 8 years, 2 months ago
Right–it’s part of the process–but there are two main reasons why this happens:
1. your blood pressure drops immediate when you start to lose weight, and the RELATIVE hypotension (a lower BP than what your body is used to) will make you dizzy. But your body adjusts quickly. And 2. you may be a little dehydrated. A lot of the necessary water we…[Read more] -

Right. Throwing food away is such an important thing to learn and practice, and is a big part of this journey. It sounds like you are doing great, though!

We messaged about this, but for everyone else:
As long as you stick with 5 bites two times per day, theoretically at about the same time everyday and the same size bites everyday, you keep your hungerstat set perfectly. I couldn’t ask for anything more. Yes, eating less is always great, but if you get a little hungrier a little later on, DO NOT…[Read more]

drlewis replied to the topic Changing progress stats in the forum The Slimming Station Diet 8 years, 2 months ago
If at all possible, try and be perfect with bars for 1 week. Again, it’s just 7 days. Seven days that will change the rest of your life. The harder it is to stick to bars–they are, after all, really boring–the greater you will feel when the week is over. You will feel powerful and in total control. Then, you will be able to eat ANYTHING and…[Read more]

Brilliant!
Instead of hot cocoa, could you get by with hot tea? At least for this first week?
And I know that bars are boring, but again, it’s just for one week.
One measly week–a mere seven days–out of the rest of you life. It is insignificant. But the benefits of doing this right can be everlasting! In my mind, it is the biggest…[Read more]

Hi Aniebee! No problem. You’ll just change the weight to what you weigh after the first week, etc.
I’m really excited for you to! We are going to do this fast and be done with it. I can tell already that you are going to be a superstar!!!

Will please answer the questions I sent you? Thanks, Al
