  • I know this may seem like a lifetime ago, do you recall how you began your 5 bite journey? How did you make through stressful days or sick days and maintain focus?

I’m feeling really worn down this week, with stress and feeling run down. Do you have any contact with Gail, Michael or others that made it to goal?

I wish I could see them in chat.

  • Hi Ava.  Yes, I’d like to hear what others’ thoughts are on this subject.

My opinion is this: there’s no way around it.  OF COURSE your going to be crazy hungry after eating just 5 bites.  You have to give your body time (3 perfect days) to reset, and then things get SO MUCH easier from a physical standpoint.  But your mental hunger, or cra…[Read more]

  • Brilliant!  After all, why not?  You will eat a few extra bites while on vacation.  Fine.  But why not go into vacation getting as much weight off your body as possible–and to enjoy (yes!) the process while you are at it.  Once you make that commitment, hunger isn’t really a big deal.  Food isn’t a big deal.  Everything is overridden by the ex…[Read more]

  • GREAT progress!  That’s a huge next step.  The trick of course is, can you stick to this regimen perfectly for a few day, then a week, then until you are done?! :crazyexcited:

  • The biggest tip that I can give you is to GO ALL OUT for 1 straight week.  After that week, you will LOVE how you feel so much that the program will take over on it’s own.  You will WANT to keep this going until you cross the finish line.  To get through the first week, though, you have to have 1. a strong desire to be thin and healthy, and 2. fu…[Read more]

  • Jennifer is right.  Jump right back on board–don’t let another crumb sneak in.  You’ll feel instantly relieved and back in the game after your next, perfect, 5-bite meal. :good:

  • Fair enough.  A few minor indiscretions, but nothing to write home about.  I love the fact that you threw the other half of the egg bite away.  Sushi “bites–or pieces” are a little bigger than a normal bite in my book, so how about 4 of them?

  • Great job, SJ!!  123 is the lowest you’ve been in awhile, no?  Doesn’t it feel great?  But mark my words:  The next 10-15 pounds that you lose will change your life.  It’s hard to put into words just how much of an impact that relatively little amount of excess weight can have on your body and your mind, but you will understand when you’ve expe…[Read more]

  • Samantha,

When you find yourself plateauing (like the last 3 day), go back to 5 normal (which may seem like smallish) bites twice a day.  Not a crumb more.  Being this precise and this perfect is HARD, but that is how we break through the plateau.  GO FOR IT!!! :yahoo:

  • No.  Please forget about calories.  It is about volume.  500 calories of one meal can be a very different volume from another item of food, and you’re hungerstat won’t set right.  Please eat a given number of bites irrespective of the calories consumed.

  • You have to trust me, Maria.  When you get all the way to the finish line, maintenance will be quite easy.  I can’t remember the last time I became insanely hungry.  It used to happen all the time when I was overweight, but I haven’t had that feeling in 15+ years.  Not that I don’t get hungry from time to time, but it’s really no big deal.  I love…[Read more]

  • I love this dialog.  It is so inspirational for so many people.  It REALLY DOES work like this:  If you can find a way to play the mental game and work through the first day or two, you are there.  Then it’s just a matter of time before you are (can you believe it!) … SKINNY!  Food will always be there, but when all is said and done, it’s not…[Read more]

  • That’s an MD’s confirmation to what I’ve  thought too! Really important thought process… Thank you Dr Lewis.
