Dr. Brown is agreeing with the science of breathing out 84% of your fat as CO2 from your lungs. But he’s cautioning on claims made by the weight loss industry about fast weight loss. What that critisim is of or who its aimed at is not discussed. But he’s mostly making the point that you can only breath out so much CO2 a day. I haven’t read the…[Read more]

Try just taking it day by day and stay busy away from food. That helps me.

I’ve decided to make the ultimate challenge at the end. Buy some calipers and actually see if I have 1 inch or less of fat on my belly. I don’t think the calipers will lie.!
I’m not missing alcohol which is surprising me

This is the last diet I’m doing.
I’ve over the obsession of healthy food. I cooked the employee BBQ today, provided morning tea and stuck to my 5 bites. Yeah!!

This sure is a no-brainer. I use to train rowing 12 times a week, had to make 59kg race weight. I struggled like you wouldn’t believe with a low calorie/high carb diet. Now that I’m not training and just doing ordinary farm work level work, this has been so eye opening and simply so much easier. How the hell could the medical industry, n…[Read more]

I agree Gayle. People’s negative comments are a reflection of where their mind and issues are. There are no doctors in my circles, so I’m just going to play the authoritarian card on this. My health and my weight is not their concern.

Sounds like you are in control Gayle! My test will be a filipino party with all the usual yummy food. That’s my test. I’m testing myself out with providing morning tea for my workers and not touching it. Next will be the BBQ at lunch and sticking to the 5 bites.

I couldn’t help myself and weighed in again. One day I felt like I was shrinking but no weight loss. The next day felt normal, not expecting anything and I lose 2 pounds!!
I know my weight drops down in chunks, so I’m not too concerned. Just staying with the 5 bites. I have kept hydrated all the time, so go figure?
Hey Alison, isn’t great to…[Read more]

Compliments threw me off last time a did a weight watchers diet, got sick of counting points and became complacent. I’m not done until I hit 18.5 BMI.

More research has been done by Professor Andrew Brown from the University of NSW. Calorie counting has to be the biggest diet myth out there in my opinion.

Hi Allan,
I had a dodgy week with mild indigestion but it seems to have passed. It could have been through large coffee consumption so I’m alternating tea and the odd diet soda here. I’m pretty sure I would have a fatty liver being overweight and consuming too much alcohol, but I’m feeling better than ever before. And simply not being over full…[Read more]

I put on a pair of pants today, normally firm fitting, today loose.
I prepared nachos, had 3 bites and 2 bites of smoked rainbow trout on pumpernickel bread with cream cheese. Yum.
I thought I would enjoy a bite of a chocolate crossiant, but it was rubbish, so I spat it out. I’m taking foodie to a new extreme!!

Just starting a thread for ideas on reponses to those in our lives who find it difficult coming to terms with your new, healthier self. Dr. Lewis gave me a few ideas. Feel free to add your comebacks!!

There have been a few people in the district here who have lost their lives early. Mid 50’s and 60’s. All overweight. And the health issues people have with diabetes. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Think of all the potential disease you are getting rid of and how healthier you are even if the pounds where not as much as you liked for the week. You…[Read more]

I’m not stressing if its not as much as I wanted. If you loose 2 pounds that’s still heading in the right direction and think how much you have already lost!! 30 pounds rid of inflammatory, disease creating fat.
And your right about a slower weight loss on other diets. All the others require too much time, obsession, weighing,…[Read more]

The number of diets I have tried in the past and have not been able to stick to is endless. Weight watchers, low carb, low calorie, the great Australian diet, jenny craig, CSIRO diet. It’s embarrassing, but this is by far the easiest “life style change” I have made. It’s time efficient, not fostering obsessive behaviour, fits into my lifestyle…[Read more]

Great tip about having a variety of bites. Then I don’t feel like I’ve missed out on anything. I got inspiration about looking for a free to eat what you want diet but limit the amount when I went out to the top restaurant in town here. They serve bite size tasty morsels in between what you ordered. And I was thinking I would have been happy with…[Read more]

My weakness is the tiredness and hunger hitting me while I’m preparing food for the kids. I fell off the wagon twice this week 10 bites of picking at food. So I am making a point of not being in the kitchen when that hits and just doing something else until it passes. I empathise with the Thai food. I got rid of all my green curry from the…[Read more]
