My weakness is tiredness and grazing around the kitchen. I have managed to cook up some meals for the kids without picking. They where very happy as I haven’t cooked in a while. I have 2 freezersĀ  full of food and a big pantry, so I’m trying to empty it out and give away as much as I can, so my kitchen doesn’t look like I can survive a nuclear…[Read more]

  • Do whatever you need to do to get your blood pressure in check Leona. The alternative is a nightmare. What a dream, eating 2 twinkies or snickers bars to save your life and look great at the same time!!! I bet your doctor is really happy he’s got a patient heading in the right direction and following good advice. Could you imagine the number of…[Read more]

  • lol pia. I know i couldnt get lap band surgery because prior you have to do 2 weeks eating crappy diet soup. Thats enough torture for me without the surgery. I hope someone makes the eating disorder comment to me one day. Ive never met a suffering anorexic that eats snickers bars.

  • snickers really satisfies? Isn’t that the slogan. Salt, peanuts and caramel. Yum. Way better than drinking some god awful prepackaged diet soup. Suckers!!

  • Don’t do the bar challenge if you are not in the mindset to do it or in a position to do it easily. I’m doing it because it’s just another working week for me. Ive been on this diet for 5 weeks, and thought I would feel like I was missing out before but now I’m ready to do it. I wouldn’t do it over the weekend with the kids around.

  • Apart from breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women, I really can’t see if the RDI’s are that accurate. I’m still taking the multivitamin every day and 3 strong calcium tablets and 1 strong iron tablet a week. Only because I have had a history of low iron. But when I get to a normal weight range, I’m going back to see my doctor and getting a blood test.

  • The one thing I’ve noticed with the 5 bite diet is your weight rarely goes up more than 200gm. I have had 1 day a week where this happens and I’m assuming its just a hydration issue. But all other days, your weight will go down. That drives me crazy too. When your weight goes up 2 pounds. Give yourself time to wean off the excessive food, bad…[Read more]

  • i’ll start tomorrow after my weigh it. Am I allowed to eat other 50 gm bars?

  • Hi Leona,

I’m still tripping out about this diet. How successful it is and how easy it is. My bites can be a bit big, when I’m not eating a snickers which I love too, but when my weight plateaus, I’ll regulate my bite size some more. I just am laughing now at the obsession the “Health” industries have in making us eat too much “healthy food” for…[Read more]

  • I’m a swimming instructor, and a few of the kids I teach are morbidly obese. They struggle to move their arms and kick. While I still recommend they come as they get the benefit of water awareness and safety, and familiarisation with breathing it is a slow haul because of their weight. And the government are blaming their lack of moving and not…[Read more]

  • And it’s such a radical idea. When you see the bombardment in the media about exersise and eating healthy as the ONLY way to loose weight. It’s blown me away that all the government endorsements about exersise is the key to loosing weight. They are running ads in Australia right now. After reading the twinkie article and I’ve read others re:…[Read more]

Alice, I can feel I lost my first amount of weight off my arms and legs. I’m hoping the next round comes from my middle, but still heading in the right direction. You will be able to fitl into that dress, just keep going.

  • I’m wearing old clothes I haven’t worn in 4-5 years. It’s a strange but good feeling. Looking forward to buying a new wardrobe and throwing out my big clothes.

So I made the school lasagna’s today. Had lasagna for lunch 5 bites, but when I was finishing s tired started picking. Only 1 bites worth, but I can’t be in the kitchen when I’m tired. So just 4 bites tonight.

  • Interesting. So some of the Australian journalists are quote research that limits the carbon expenditure to 1.4 kg a week, I’ve already lost 2kg+ each week, which means this is incorrect.

  • Lol. Chloe I can relate to the gut not getting in the way. My knees have been constantly sore being overweight and for the last 2 weeks, the pain has gone away. So I thought I would attempt a difficult tiling job I’ve been avoiding. Nailed it, and my knees where only a little sore only because I wasn’t using knee pads. I’ve lost a lot of weight…[Read more]

I’m a grazier and had a slow start to this diet. I hadn’t read the book, and was just going on some blog that said you can do the 5 bites plus cerlery and carrot sticks. So I was doing that for a week, then I read the book, dropped the carrot and celery. So in a way I was lucky not have really suffered going cold turkey for 3 days and having bad…[Read more]

I felt sorry for our local Weight Watchers leader. She was doing really well, then a few months later I saw her back at her orginal size. It’s not good when you live in a small town. People are very judgemental.
