This sure is a no-brainer. I use to train rowing 12 times a week, had to make 59kg race weight. I struggled like you wouldn’t believe with a low calorie/high carb diet. Now that I’m not training and just doing ordinary farm work level work, this has been so eye opening and simply so much easier. How the hell could the medical industry, n…[Read more]

Day 24
Thanks Gayle, yes I am keeping so busy lately, figuring out stuff for grad school and taking a teacher training course for mindfulness meditation on top of working my two other jobs. I can’t believe how much more motivated I seem to be now that I am not so caught up trying to sort out all my food issues. That was a lot of brain and…[Read more]

I agree Gayle. People’s negative comments are a reflection of where their mind and issues are. There are no doctors in my circles, so I’m just going to play the authoritarian card on this. My health and my weight is not their concern.

Sounds like you are in control Gayle! My test will be a filipino party with all the usual yummy food. That’s my test. I’m testing myself out with providing morning tea for my workers and not touching it. Next will be the BBQ at lunch and sticking to the 5 bites.

I couldn’t help myself and weighed in again. One day I felt like I was shrinking but no weight loss. The next day felt normal, not expecting anything and I lose 2 pounds!!
I know my weight drops down in chunks, so I’m not too concerned. Just staying with the 5 bites. I have kept hydrated all the time, so go figure?
Hey Alison, isn’t great to…[Read more]

Thanks Lynda,
That’s encouraging, hopefully I will notice the same.
I forgot to mention the worst – I have gallstones and have severe intermiitent attacks, sometimes once a week for months sometime once every other month. Seeking relief from these without surgery as well.

Compliments threw me off last time a did a weight watchers diet, got sick of counting points and became complacent. I’m not done until I hit 18.5 BMI.

More research has been done by Professor Andrew Brown from the University of NSW. Calorie counting has to be the biggest diet myth out there in my opinion.

Hi Allan,
I had a dodgy week with mild indigestion but it seems to have passed. It could have been through large coffee consumption so I’m alternating tea and the odd diet soda here. I’m pretty sure I would have a fatty liver being overweight and consuming too much alcohol, but I’m feeling better than ever before. And simply not being over full…[Read more]

Hi everyone,
I’m new here, this is my first post. Over the course of two years, I have dropped 45 lbs mainly by walking and portion control, and managed to keep it off. My goal weight is 170.
I’m posting tonight to ask if anyone has had success healing digestive issues by losing weight / eating less. I have GERD, gastritis, diverticulitis, IBS,…[Read more]

Just imagine how amazing you will look good at GOAL! Even though I like how I look at some of the higher weights, NOTHING looks as good as when I get to the lower and lower mid range. It’s so nice when that tummy gets flat again. YES – as a 50 yr old woman, who has had two children, my tummy gets as flat as a board at my lower range — so I’m…[Read more]

We continue to learn Chloe! So so glad you didn’t have the side effects of first few days. For me, if I overindulge — more when I’m in the maintenance phase and not weight loss phase — I find that Day 2 or 3 of reset can be hungrier days BUT manageable.
Keep hydrated and busy!!
You are killing it!!

Hi Everyone!
I love reading all your posts!!!
Sorry to have been out of communication. I was on a family vacation from Friday to Tuesday night. The vacation was really about spending time with my aging parents so it was special but some work. I completely stayed on my vacation plan. I weighed everyday and exercised everyday. I have not lost more…[Read more]

WOW! These are fantastic!!
“I’m on a fast and furious race to get rid of the toxic fat!”
Just try to tune people out! You will never allay people’s fears. Their disingenuous concern is really about their fear in disguise. Food and weight loss can be very confrontational. I no longer apologize for my eating or dieting. My body, my rules.

I put on a pair of pants today, normally firm fitting, today loose.
I prepared nachos, had 3 bites and 2 bites of smoked rainbow trout on pumpernickel bread with cream cheese. Yum.
I thought I would enjoy a bite of a chocolate crossiant, but it was rubbish, so I spat it out. I’m taking foodie to a new extreme!!

Day 23
Yesterday I allowed myself to “top up” so to speak but I have found that eating so much is not ultimately satisfying and I seem to be able to carry over the habit of leaving food on my plate. I also found that I am actually refining my palate in the sense that I feel like I can choose the individual tastes I am looking for and let go of…[Read more]
