  • I haven’t updated in a couple days and in the past that would mean I fell off track and I’m hiding but for the first time in my life it’s like the part of my brain that has been ultra-focused on food and weight and dieting has been removed from my head. The only time I have thought about food is at lunch and dinner time, and then I am focused but…[Read more]

  • 36 days down! I was super vigilant today with my bites and weighed my lunch and dinner food. Coffee for breakfast, salami with cheese for lunch, tuna casserole for dinner. I’m sticking with it and we’ll see what happens next Monday!

  • I agree Lynda!

Chloe, as a fellow run-and-hider, I wanted to share with you that my first instinct this morning when the scale showed only 2 pounds lost, was to hide out until next Monday where i’d hope to put up a bigger number. My fear was that people would see the 2 pounds and say, “she must not REALLY be following the plan.” But then I…[Read more]

  • Great job Lynda, when I make lunch for my kids, that’s a big grazing time for me so I’ve purposely bought food I don’t like for their lunches so I don’t nibble as I prepare. I make the food quick and get far away from the kitchen!

Interesting about the guy to the South Pole!

  • This week I lost only 2 pounds. This would usually throw me off the diet because I know I am following it 100% and 2 pounds is so little but again, I’m not going to obsess because giving up will only lead me to gain weight and 2 pounds is better than gaining. I’m just going to push through and see what next week brings! Also, by this time on any…[Read more]

  • Hi Lynda, this definitely works much better for long term control, and you don’t have the complications and recovery from surgery! It’s great you can model a better option!

    35 days ✅

breakfast coffee, lunch snickers, dinner mini slices of salami with dill havarti cheese (I weighed it out to be the same as a half snickers and was surprised at how…[Read more]

  • Fantastic Chloe! It’s great when a few people on here are all really trucking along together! (Oh but please stop with all the Thai food! I’ve been avoiding Pad Thai because it is one food that I looooooooove to eat way beyond full and I don’t feel quite ready to attempt it!)

  • Yahoo!!!! That’s awesome!!! You are completely back on track and rocking! Great work  :yahoo:

  • Thanks Leona, I’m keeping it simple and just doing it, day in, day out. Like Dr. Lewis told me, I’m just being a 5-biter and every day it gets more and more my new “normal” and I no longer think, “I’ll be happy when I get to my goal because then I can go back to eating ‘normal'” because this IS normal, not what I used to eat! Also, I’m not…[Read more]

  • 34 perfect days in a row!

another day of just naturally following 5 bite without thinking about food except when sitting down to eat!

Morning black coffee, brunch 5 bites homemade egg sandwich dipped in Dijon mustard, dinner 5 bites slow cooker pulled pork and sauerkraut on brioche. Every bite today tasted so good but once I ate, I was done and…[Read more]

  • I love your words of wisdom Gayle. When you said you’re still tweaking your process, it rung true for me because I see this as a new process that I’m now living and I’m getting to know the ins and out of it but I’m no longer in my old process that was self-sabotaging and negative.

  • Hey Chloe, I’m thrilled to see you haven’t given up!! I know all too well about getting cocky and then having to hide out! It happens to all of us and then we learn and move forward.

Oh and yes, do not keep food in your house, I’ve been doing grocery shopping every 2-3 days and only buying what I plan for meals. No need to tempt ourselves!

    Have…[Read more]

  • Thanks Chloe but I did have a lot, lot, lot of false starts before this go round!

Today was the first day that this all felt very natural and eating 5 bites is just how I live. In fact, I didn’t think about food until mealtimes and after dinner I forgot again until I saw my chart and remembered I needed to come on here and log my day. I hope this…[Read more]

  • That is wonderful Leona!! Doesn’t it feel incredible when you give it your all at this? I know it makes me feel like I have an ability that most people will never even attempt for an entire day! Great work!!!!!!

  • Very encouraging Gayle, thanks! I’ll be printing that post to reread regularly! I’m so excited to follow your journey and see how the lower weight works out for you.

  • Day 32 over and done!

Breakfast coffee, lunch snickers, and dinner 5 bites chicken tetrazzini.

    88 days to go!

  • Thanks! Yes, I am loving the freedom to just eat anything, anywhere. There’s no planning or calculating. My husband even admitted how he finds this much more doable than anything we’ve tried in the past which is huge to both be on the same page with a diet! Usually one of us is wanting to do a diet that is a complete contradiction in method to the…[Read more]

  • It’s amazing how diet soda messes with your results. I was drinking 1-2 cans a different time I did this and my weightless stalled until I thought to omit the cans. I switched to sparkling water then to regular water and things picked back up. Great job!

  • I’ve been loving some “unhealthy” foods and I’m not ashamed to admit it!

Breakfast coffee, lunch 1/2 snickers, dinner a grilled cheeseburger with grilled onions and mayonnaise. It was so good and so bad at the same time but I was good and stuck to my 5 bites!

31 perfect days in a row!

  • Thanks Gayle!

Lynda, I also have had some reflux but not everyday so perhaps it’s depending on the kind of food. I also only get it while pregnant so it caught me off guard. It could have been that I laid down not long after eating one of the days. It hasn’t been terrible for me, is yours bad?
